Hurricaneblue/Nanami; overrated female sentai warrior

For me it's not Nanami who is overrated, but Nao Nagasawa.

My friends start liking her when she guest starred in Kamen Rider W because they rarely watched Sentai. When she returns in Fourze as different character, people keep remembering her as "that sexy magician from W." It's kinda annoy me that she's more remembered as Kamen Rider character. :sweat:

But I can't hate her, she's one of my first Toku crush, and what I like about her is that she still loves Tokusatsu until now, watching the show and collecting toys. :laugh:

She stands out to me because she did most of her suit action scenes. She was also the suit actress for Hurricaneblue. :castlerock:

Even though I agree that as a character Nanami wasn't particularly smart (same with the other two teammates), and she wasn't a very complex individual (and her idol singing probably didn't help her image very much). However, I found Nao's acting to be quite entertaining, and in a sentai series that is imo overall quite average, her presence really added alot more to my enjoyment of Hurricaneger, and if not for her I might not have sticked around to see the series until the very end. The fact that I recently discovered the suit actor for Hurricane Blue to be Nao herself makes me appreciate her even more.

Yuuki Ono was Hurricane Blue's suit actress. (Ono also played Abare Yellow, Magi Pink, and Kamen Rider L'arc.) I liked Ono, it's sad they didn't give her more parts...

While true, Nao Nagasawa was also the suit actress for Hurricane Blue as well (Link).

They were probably doing Hurricane Blue at the same time. :castlerock:

I'm leery of toku info that can ONLY be found on the English Wikipedia. This is the first I've read of this, and considering what an absolute mess the English Wikipedia often is when it comes to the suit actor section...

I think it's safe to say it's wrong. Sentai hasn't let an actor regularly play a character in-suit since Dynaman, not counting the few scenes in the finale that they let the actors do some stuff in-suit.

She doesn't go into great depth about it but I'm assuming she wasn't the sole suit actor.

I think she did the stunt work in the episode where Furabijo lied to her and she fight without closing her mask, forgot which episode.

Sounds like there could have been communication mix-up in that interview. (Or, worst case scenario, Nao's just a big old liar.)

Yuuki Ono was the main suit actress -- she's done ton of interviews about it, it's well known. That interview just makes Nao sound like she's taking all of the credit -- when, giving her the benefit of doubt, she's thinking about those open-visor scenes, which doesn't make her the suit actress, especially since all three of them opened their visors like that and never did any action when their face was seen.

The only actors who did their own stuff in-suit -- Kenji Ohba, Jun'ichi Haruta, Koji Unoki. And these three are JAC guys, not 17 year old idols. How can anyone really think a 17 year old idol would really be doing the action?
