How would you have adapted Kamen Rider Ryuki

How would you have adapted Kamen Rider Ryuki into a Saturday morning American toku show?

In other words, if you had been in charge of Dragon Knight, how would you have done it differently?

Keep in mind your budget and audience. I'm really curious as to what could have been.

You know, I wouldn't have approached things all that differently. I probably would've tried to come up with an "explanation" for the Rider Fight that was a little less hokey than the Xaviax/Advent Master stuff. I would've wanted better dialog and more stuff happening in the show in its early episodes. I probably would've come up with different characters.

But in broad strokes, I think I would've used an overall similar approach.

I'd have given the Riders less daft names than "Camo" and "Thrust"

I'd like to expand on the "displaced man" plot that was Len. The last survivor of Ventara in a world that is not his, fighting for vengeance and for the sake of these people nonetheless. Also, expand on the "Spielban-esque" relationship that went on with Kit and Len: two people that only had each other for support.


And of course, not have the show be a complete bore with mediocre acting and special effects.

I think some of the characters could've been more interesting or just a bit less cheesy and it would've improved things.

In broad strokes, though, I really do think Dragon Knight got it mostly right.

I actually like what was done and what was implied and from reading the recent interview...I kinda just think a bigger budget would have done so much to give the show a better chance at surviving.

that's easy: adapt a different heisei series

but in all seriousness, I'd have kept the Ryuki henshin poses, keep the Rider War plot(albeit with an actual villain like Xaviax pulling the strings, who we actually see and is a threat), make sure that Kit is always Dragon Knight(and never Adam) and lead up to an epic Dragon Knight vs, Onyx(who i'd rename Dragon Rogue) akin to the the one at the end of Episode Final. also, more freakin' Genocider. the 1 second of screentime it got was pathetic. plus, I'd keep the alternative a bad guy, rather than this big creator
