Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger - Talk Up!

So the 4th Wall breaking thing is actually a thinly-veiled critique on Toei's handling of their sentai series?

I'm not sure how else you can interpret the storyline, to be honest. That certainly seems to be how it's meant to come off, and how it's being interpreted in Japan. Shigenori Takatera (Hibiki's original producer) tweeted about Akiba 11 and basically said something along the lines of, "Hikasa-san, you're going to be in trouble if the higher-ups see this!"

If this is the case, then Akibaranger's producer (Hikasa?) must have alot of guts to do this. One has to wonder if the front office of Toei is ignorant of this storyline, or they knew but didn't care. Either way, I'm sure Takatera feels a little bit better seeing a fellow producer doing a critique of their company with his own show, and funded by Toei on top of that.

Director Shinji Takamatsu from Sunrise has gotten away with doing this kind of thing in various animes, so I don't think executives really care about an indirect criticism like this.

I hope the staff of GoBusters watch this and it makes them feel bad.

But seriously, that was awesome. So many little details throughout, like Dr Z not being able to shoot Malsheena at point blank range.

I went and watched an episode of Go-Onger after this and had a good laugh when a character said "Gaiark! What are you planning?"

i just started watching this and watch it on my ipod during my walks to work and to home. as someone who lives 25 minutes away from akihabara, i enjoy that i know all the filming locations. when i do my review for my channel, i will do it in akihabara and show all the filming locations. i totally know where marushiina's building is when she gave the team her office. i also know some of those allies like the back of my hand. sadly, i have never seen a filming of an episodes since im sure they are filming while im working. i am enjoying this show overall since i know a lot about the other tokyo subcultures as well.

i totally fanboyed that midorikawa hikaru, one of my favorite seiyuus, was the voice of kabuki cho, and is a spoof of my second favorite place in japan (maybe its because im an american male, but shibuya is so overrated imho. i guess its only good if youre a woman). i know how yumemira was feeling.

Why would the staff of Go-busters feel bad after watching this episode? :sly:

I just imagined Nobuo and crew pulling a Fantastic Four when they brought Ben Grimm back to life by meeting God who basically drew the Thing back into existence. I think it'd be really funny for Nobuo to suddenly break a portal open and meet Arakawa and talk to him and make an ending.

I have nooooo clue whats going on.

All the theories I had the week before is now all gone kaput.

This show is taking me for a ride AND I AM ALL FOR IT.

I am gonna miss this show so much T_T

Nobuo straight up uses the phrase for shows being re-tooled by the higher ups in the episode, so there's really no mistaking that.

Also, Takatera likes being a sarcastic ass on twitter, as was the case for that tweet. I remember he was making fun of Yuji Kishi on his divorce using speed related puns almost immediately after it happened.
