Gokaiger: 35th Anniversary NOD thread

Forever Knight

Eye See You
This thread isn't for actual series discussion. Just facts on some **** in the Gokaiger episodes that are nods from older shows.

If anyone has anything to add, please do so.

Episode 1:
-The Name Captain MARVELOUS is a nod to MARVEL. Before Battle Fever J, Sentai had no mecha and the Spider-Man toku did. Toei dropped the Spidey show once it was completed and "transfered" the mecha theme to Sentai creating Super Sentai.
-The foot soldiers of the Empire are nods to HESTLER, from Shaider. Some of you may remember him as Doom Master from VR Troopers season 2. I guess Toei wanted to tickle some Metal Hero fancy as well.

Again, if anyone has anything to add it would be great. The thread is NOT for episode discussion or opinions. Just a guide for fans who don't know.

Your "nods" seem to be stretching it quite a bit.

Snack Safari (Where the Gokaigers sat down to eat in episode 1) is obviously a reference to Sun Vulcan as they hanged out in a restaurant with the same name in their series. :)

The heads of the foot soldiers look nothing like this right?.

What about the whole thing with the curry rice. Which was something that Ki Ranger enjoyed.

Not to mentioned that they were able to recreate the set to exact detail.

The only references in episode 1 was:

Snack Safari and if it you want to stretch it a bit with the scene of Gokai-Oh in front of Earth as a homage to Megaranger.

The Gokai-Oh/GalaxyMega scene in ep 1, yep that one too.

Now, if you are going to spend your entire time in the thread with idiot comments like "the ONLY reference" or "stretching" then seriously get the **** out and go bathe in the stupidity of Rangerboard. Either contribute or shut up.

Goranger Hurricane ... especially at the end, when GokaiRed shouted "End Ball" ... Aka Ranger also shouted "End Ball" at the end of the Original Goranger Hurricane.
