If you take the 'Godzilla' name off the movie is actually pretty fun. Its just that unlike a Japanese Godzilla movie the monster isn't the main character, Nick is.

There was, but not anymore due to the creator Michael Crichton's death recently.

Yeah in the first episode Nick goes back to the ruins of Madisson Square Garden and finds a single egg left. The egg then hatches, spraying Nick with the liquid inside. The baby zilla comes out, sees Nick, smells him and doesn't attack him. The fact that Nick is the first thing the baby sees AND smells like the egg makes it so the baby zilla becomes attached to him.

I re-watched Episode 1 while back, he dosen't get sprayed he falls into the gunk
