For combination skin, the best scar minimizer I've seen is Mederma (dunno if I spelled that right). It minimizes, but doesn't get rid though. It may help though ^^

And as for facial cleansers I recommend the combination skin cleansers by Nutrogena. They seem to have the deepest cleanse and are good for every skin type.

Also I'm ignoring all the pretty retarded attempts to cause drama and start fights and problems on something that was just meant as a safe haven for girls to talk about what we want to talk about. It's more of a dick move to pick and choose which guys can and can't post in the thread, thus it's just girls only. There's no need for all this drama and ridiculous bullshit. We girls wanted one solitary thread to ourselves and that's it. But can anyone respect that? Seemingly no. Oddly enough FOREVER KNIGHT of all people has been the most respectable. I find that pretty fricking funny.

Everyone just needs to chill and move on. Just let us do our thang just as we've let you do yours.

EDIT for getting back on topic.

Have any of you ladies used shapewear? What brands do you recommend? I gained weight a little unevenly and even though I am indeed losing weight, I like to smooth things out yanno? lol I have a nice one that goes from under breast to mid thigh, however it always rolls down on the top because there's nothing to hold it up. I haven't managed to find a good one with tank top straps and no bra cups (my breasts are too big for shapewear that has a bra on it).

So any good brand recommendations?

I heard Spanx was great.. but I've never personally tried them, though.
Ever tried to invest in a good smooth corset?

Mmm... shapewear, shapewear~

I've used it once or twice when I was younger actually, though it was my mom who put me up to it and because of that I've been kinda *eh* about them, lol.

Though, while expensive, I hear that Spanx is really well made and useful. I do recommending reading [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Lingerie-Handbook-Rebecca-Apsan/dp/0761143238/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1286732113&sr=8-1"]the Lingerie Handbook[/ame]. She has a whole section on shapewear and how it's supposed to fit.

While other books on lingerie borders on arcane, I really like this one as it's definitely one about self confidence and not just how to be eye candy for your man.

I always reference it before I go lingerie shopping. :anime:

Corset~ I really want one of those, though I think it would be just as big of an investment as Spanx (maybe?). I just want a well made one that's pretty enough to wear on it's own.

But that's just the exhibitionist in me, :P lol~

Every time I try to find a corset they're those fashion ones without real boning and they don't go down to the hip area. It seems like all my weight gain was in my arms and lower belly (looks like i just had a couple kids -_-) so I need one that extends below the lower belly area yanno?

And I keep hearing the Spanx brand name, but I've never known anyone who's used it... hmmm....

I'm DEFINITELY going to check that out. It sounds great!

I really only use it now because my weight gain was so uneven that my clothes fit weird now. Like I can still wear a size small shirt, but my lower belly and upper arms don't fit. Same with jeans. So shapewear just kind of makes everything more... even LOL

I want a good corset SOOOOOO bad! if I could find a superb quality one I definitely wouldn't mind the investment. All the ones I find seem to just be fashion ones with no real support, or training corsets for BDSM (they make your waist that OMG WHAT tiny and move ribs. I do NOT want that effect)

Yeah.. real imported corsets and stuff can be like.. $200-400.. @_@ It's crazy..

If your weight is there, then I guess Spanx would probably be your best bet.. ._. or one of those panties with the huge banding across the belly *_* Suck you in!

i wouldn't mind a $300 corset if it did the job -_-

And the weight kind of is there. I've been losing weight, but with my current back problems (caused by weight of course) I can't do as many abdominal exercises. So it's like a deflated balloon :( I may look for those panties is well, because that would be pretty simple and comfy to work in it seems.

It's not that there's a lot of weight, but that little pudge in one area that just seemingly won't go away.

I guess I have that, too. I have like a last 10 pounds to lose and it's all around my belly.. so I have some lovehandles.. which I hate >/ So sometimes I do wear the panty-band thing.. @_@ I only have one, though.. and I don't think it's even "name brand" or anything.. forgot where I got it from.. but it does the job for those dresses that I don't want to show any pantylines or bumps..

The dress thing is why I have the shapewear that goes from under breast to mid thigh lol. But yeh it's like... I don't even have love handles or anything. Still generally in shape. But upper arms and that one spot (right below the belly button) I just can't seem to trim up. Perhaps once I've lost a bit more and my back is stronger I can get aggressive with abdominal and arm exercises. For now i'll stick to my 3 times a day IXA-cise lol (Which DOES really work BTW)

If I could add my two cents to the ongoing discussion about corsets, I have to agree that they are rather pricey, but so worth the investment. There are several online stores that have decent prices for overbust corsets; if you want a corset to go down to your hips, an overbust corset is more likely to be that long than an underbust. Surprisingly, I've seen very good prices on corsets at the past two conventions I've gone to; roughly 150 or so for corsets with spiral steel boning and steel grommets, both over and underbust.

I own a red overbust corset that I purchased at this past Katsucon and I use it for my White Mage cosplay and I have a purple underbust (close to waist cincher length) that I purchased at this past Animazement; both were purchased from different vendors but both fit fabulously and don't at all hurt. So, if you really want to get a corset, I would actually suggest a convention. XD Go figure!
