Heh, yeah, I guess you could say that. My roots are back in Virginia, but I'm in NC right now for grad school.

And there's no way you and I are the only people in NC who post on the board. I know for a fact that KickHopper lives in NC.

Hm, really? I don't think I've ever spoken to KickHopper.

I haven't really met a lot of North Carolinian tokusatsu fans. I had the chance to this past Animazement, but my ride canceled the trip at the last minute.

I did attend Nekocon in Hampton, Virginia though. That was pretty interesting, as I took part in the impromptu tokusatsu panel.

I don't know how much KickHopper posts in the forums or where he posts, but I do know he's from NC. Animazement's really fun, I'm sorry your ride backed down on you, he's a poopy head. I was actually really excited to go to Nekocon this year but unfortunately I'm not able to go due to grad school. :(

KickHopper and some of our mutual friends will be going to participate in the LARP which involves DaiShocker. Are you going to be a part of that? Oh, KickHopper is known as djkidna in other parts, so maybe you've talked to him on some con forums?

If I could add my two cents to the ongoing discussion about corsets, I have to agree that they are rather pricey, but so worth the investment. There are several online stores that have decent prices for overbust corsets; if you want a corset to go down to your hips, an overbust corset is more likely to be that long than an underbust. Surprisingly, I've seen very good prices on corsets at the past two conventions I've gone to; roughly 150 or so for corsets with spiral steel boning and steel grommets, both over and underbust.

I own a red overbust corset that I purchased at this past Katsucon and I use it for my White Mage cosplay and I have a purple underbust (close to waist cincher length) that I purchased at this past Animazement; both were purchased from different vendors but both fit fabulously and don't at all hurt. So, if you really want to get a corset, I would actually suggest a convention. XD Go figure!

Lucky you! I only know one place around here that SORTA carries my size @_@ I am a 30 (sometimes 32) DD now.. but it often also depends on how they're made.. but.. it's hella expensive (and mostly just for brides.) Sometimes the cup is still too small.. sometimes the waistband still too big.. In bra stores I usually have to try on like 30 bras before I leave the store with 1 or 2.. so I could imagine the disaster from trying to buy online.
@_@ I'd love to find a nice nude-coloured one.. but.. *Sigh* I dunno if that's gonna be happening soon..

;_; I just wish corsets weren't limited to the average "32B" person.

Surprisingly, Nordstrom is a really good place for bras. With corsets, you can normally fudge the fit in the bust, the waist is what's really important.

BlackCatGoddess: Well, I'm not too worried about missing Animazement. I've forgiven him, since these things just kind of happen.

Also, the Nekocon panel I was referring to was last year, I forgot to mention that. I do plan on going again this year though.

Also, is this LARP going to be at Nekocon? If so, then I'll participate if I can find them.

Yes, it's at Nekocon. It's the official Nekocon LARP. Unfortunately, KickHopper informs me that registration of characters not already on the list is unavailable, however they still have available characters to pic from the list. Phillip is still available and I know KickHopper is really wanting someone to play as Phillip because he's going as Shotaro. Here's the link for the registration page of the LARP: http://dankna.com/neko/

Also, there was a tokusatsu panel at Animazement this year. It was really a lot of fun.

Edit: Apparently they closed off registration for all characters. :( Guess that means no Phillip for Shotaro. Although maybe you can talk to someone involved in the LARP about registering still. They have a Yahoo Group and a Facebook page, and I know that they check the Yahoo Group a lot.

hahah corsets......... i wonder how i would look in real one.... i have a fake-ish corset that looks really niiiiice on me :D ........also makes me look like whore .. but meh XD

Uwa~ those are really good prices on corsets! *must remember when AX returns* There's a specialty lingerie store in the next town over which actually specializes in corsets and I really, really want to go in there except they look so gorgeous and thus are probably ridiculously expensive. I probably should just man up and walk in there~

---

I walked into Korea Town today to accompany my bestie while he went to go buy some Mix Style headphones from the Korean music store (and those things were only $25! :O_O: Definitely going to get myself either a black, purple or pink pair~).

Of course, I forget to check out and buy BB Cream and Mederma and end up with a Beast poster and folder instead. Damn... fan... girling~ :P

The poster is currently hanging next to my bed in my apartment. I haven't had a fan girl poster on my wall since... Sailor Moon? NSYNC? lol

I call it my boyfriend placeholder, lol.

I think I did kind of participate in their LARP last year. I asked for whatever characters they had leftover and received Sayaka Yumi from Mazinger Z.

I regret that I didn't really do much though.
