Getting a new 360 - Need Suggestions, pleezles

I second getting a warranty. I had an xbox and got the ring of death, got it fixed. Then it kept freezing like a week later, and I couldn't get it fixed because the xbox died a day after the warranty ran out. I was so mad. Now if I decide a get a game system, I'm getting a PS3.

The unpredictable failure rate's also what's keeping me from buying a new X box myself...

The failure rate of 360's is very down. They don't happen nearly as much anymore. Most of the people that tell you they do are just anti xbox fanboys that don't want anyone buying a 360. And as I stated a few posts back, lets say it did RROD. MS gives you a 3 year warante.

Well I suggest Street Fighter IV since apparently amazon has it for 25 bucks:

Not entirely sure if you like fighting games but yeah.

That's most likely true. Mine broke last year and was the older xbox 360 so I'm not sure if that 3 year warranty applied to me. But I was a huge fan of the 360. The new 360 slim has cut down problems on the RROD, not as many.

The better heat syncs in the elites helped as well. And if it RRODed last year, then you would had the warranty. Well unless you bought the 360 prior to 06 :P

Well the new 360 slim has cut down the "overheat" issue to the point where the 360 gives you a "warning signal" on your tv screen while you're playing the game that you're console is overheating. ****, it will even automatically shutdown your 360 slim if you decide to play your game TO THE POINT OF OVERHEAT.

So yeah, the 360 slim did cut down a good number of problems of the RROD........in terms of overheating the motherboard and all that. The other RROD issues, not so much.

But to the topic of the OP, if you're getting a new 360..........definitely aim for the new 360 slims because of the advantages of stated in terms of the RROD issues. You don't even have to get the 250 GB 360 slims, the 4 GB 360 slims are just as good and are cheaper as well.

4 GB 360 Slims are only $199.........while the 250 GB one is $299, so if you're concerned about the cost of the thing, the 4 GB 360 will be good enough for you for now.

I'd consider getting an extended warranty if I were you, Kaji.

I see what your all saying.

Actually, my mom did get the Warranty back in 2006...Or was it 2005. Because I remember that the Warranty was three years, but my 360 died a year after it expired, which was last year. So 2009 - 4....yeah, 2005. I had one of the more earlier models of the 360.

Just some advice, if you have the option, get the PS3 version of Star Ocean 4.

In addition to being multi lingual, you also have the added benefit of not having to swap out your disc every time you want to visit a new world to grind materials during the last quarter of the game, which was the main reason why i sold the 360 version to Ragna and picked up the ps3 version in the first place.

Not to mention the anime artwork is much better. I don't know why they did that for the 360 release.... That cgi stuff was ugly.
