OOO's and double are cannon. During A-Z eiji didn't have ankh with him yet was chasing after medals. The reason? He wasn’t eiji. After the revival of the greed we never see the coffin again. The ooo in A-Z is the ooo from 800 years ago who revived and took on the appearance of eiji and using the remnants of the energy from his sealing scan to become ooos without the belt. He wasn't stable in because his time after the greed were formed and he saw there power absorbing the tenth core medals to become a pseudo-greed and later try and be a god. When he defeated the greed he scanned all there medals gaining the energies but he had complete sets of ten going inert, turning his body into cell medals. But as we saw in the flashback he didn't have all of ankhs medals so his head wasn't immediately turned into cell medals and his conscious was preserved. So after he was revived he needed the tenth core to be complete, meaning he was a conscious without a body essentially ankh in a more passive role since he knew how big of a target he would be.
When the tenth cores didn't appear he went back to his old kingdom and found ankhs body using his influence over the medals spawned him as a minion. When he returned kogami was able to detect the new greed and spoke with the king. The partnership was beneficial in furthering the cell medal systems and the birth gear. Maki was also able to assist the king in creating three new cores, the black cores meant to finalize birth. The efforts then transferred to resurrecting another before trying to restore the king, they resurrected nobunaga. The king also known as Giru created two yummy to test nobunaga, but they were wild without his full power present. The events of ooos section of movie war core transpired with the real eiji. Then realizing that the black cores were also uncontrollable the king mounted up as ooos again to fight kamen rider core using lankhs medals and the last of his absorbed core energy for different forms. The fight was too much though and his core energy was depleted so lank gave him the other red cores. Without his core energies he could no longer control lank and lank went on to form his own personality.
When he landed in Brazil he had no energy and was forced to assimilate the energy from the black core causing his life-force to become corrupted. Upon returning to Japan maki tricked the desperate and rabid giru into merging with an incomplete set of core that had been recovered and the purple cores were created giving maki the power he finally needed to defect. The corrupted energy still informed the cores however and half went to the current ooos. The power of the new purple cores allowed giru to call upon the energies he had left in the center of the earth forming medagabryu.
Since the purple cores had the essence of king they sought out normal cores but the desire to obtain then was perverted into a desire to destroy them and the king’s powers were capable of it. The dino greed were once again twisted attempts at giru's resurrection and ascent into godhood with there power and obsession with cores. Though as maki showed its purple power wanted to get rid of the cores and make someone else the container, showing how damaged the re-purposed and corrupted king power was. When exposed to tenth core medals the purple reacted stronger and destroyed them quicker than ever before. When maki was defeated the mass medal absorption was repeated but instead of sealing and attempting the create something godlike the reaction was true to girus corrupted and turned around desires since using the black cores; it was destruction and nothingness.
