it's hard to blame them since they just want to keep their revenues flowing.

That sir, is what we call...

Due to cabletv, it also means that there's access to a lot more of the educational shows. It's a matter of choice for the viewers.

That's the weird part, here in my home, even our helpers' TV has access to cable, but I always catch them watching Wowowee instead of taking advantage of what cable TV offers, not necessarily channels I watch like Discovery or Nat Geo, but at least watch quality channels that can show them that there is more to life than novelty shows and love-themes and sexy girls dancing with cash. I mean, they're human, they're supposed to be curious creatures, not be satisfied with whatever joy shows like Wowowee or John Lloyd/Sarah Geronimo love-theme brings. Sad reality I guess... Call me fascist, but intelligence wouldn't be so special if everybody has it.

Yes... Greed... but as Gordon Gecko said, Greed is good... Depends who you talk to... Anyway, entertainment is entertainment. I think, and I say this loosely, that the life of a helper is quite simple. Us on the other hand have gone through College and earned a degree, so we appreciate these educational channels better.

Going back to the helper, it's quite monotonous to go through the day just doing house chores (don't you think?). So, I guess, to break that monotony, they would rather watch entertainment shows compared to educational shows... I'm not saying that educational shows are not entertaining. They can be very entertaining, if you have the right person viewing the show. I remembered watching a show on Discovery titled Blue Planet which showcases the Earth and all living things the live on it... They showed those remote places and the life that's there.

It would be nice, but not everybody is the same as us, and not everybody has the same drive to learn new things. It's just their nature. At least that's what I have observed.
