There is no need to. Eva, once you watch it again, is simply a parody of the then very popular hot-blooded super mecha anime shows. The use of Judeo-Christian mythologies for the kaiju and enemies was nothing but a way to make the show look cooler, Anno-the creator/director of the show- admitted this himself. He was in a depressed mood in the 90's, and he despised the way people of his own country worshiped and idolized certain brands of anime's.
Now though, with the premiere of the Rebuild films, he's in a much lighter mood- married, good job, his own company etc. The shows reflect the creator and the much needed break Anno had from Eva was something of a blessing to the franchise.
...I realize that, once again, I have written more than I should have. Dammit, I get so lost in explaining things sometimes.
I've watched Evangelion when I was a kid but heck, that was the WHOLE story behind it? Well, thank you so much for that. And that's the reason why the reboots exist.:thumbs:
