Doubles? Triples? of figures

Hey guys,

this is a much discussed topic. How do you feel about getting doubles and triples of figures? not army building per say. I am currently in Hong Kong and my buddies are debating whether or not to get seconds of faiz accel. A SHF EXCLUSIVE! he's reasoning was that the leg was loose. well damn, if I had the cash to buy a double for an EXCLUSIVE every time a joint was loose...

what are your thoughts? Would you get doubles of your favorite characters or as an replacement to one your previously had? I am speaking in the context of sh figuarts mainly.

Most likely no. I never really understood why people would buy multiples of the same thing.

I would not get doubles of any figures (unless they're army building types). Exclusives or non exclusives.

Unless armybuilders, I would only get multiples of figures if I liked the character very much and wanted to display them in a variety of poses all at once. Only time I've gotten multiple for SHF is ShinkenRed -- not only so I could have more Kurokos -- but so I could have one mounted on bike and one on foot. I originally wanted a 3rd one to be mounted on a horse but couldn't find a good horse figure.

I don't buy seconds of toys unless I want to use it for a custom, or I want one to stay in the packaging for autographs.

Joker and nazca are my favorite rider designs of all time. really contemplating on seconds...but then again...gotta hunt down my last grail..GAOH!

My only reasoning is if the toy is COMPLETELY broken. Say, if the breaks off at the hinge, or the peg in the wrist is broken off.

That's the ONLY reason why I'd buy a second, and only AFTER it happens. Otherwise, I wouldn't buy a double or triple.
