Doubles? Triples? of figures

does anyone here buy seconds for the sake of MOC/MISB collecting?? doing that for SHF is ridiculous cause it's resealable but let's say marvel legends or DC universe classics, those type of stuff where it's cardback.

I think it's a viable way of getting much more than what it's worth in the long run. I was considering, when I had a job of course, grabbing two of each exclusive, one for my collection, and then one to sell off later.

I was considering that actually at one point. But then I thought, "I bought this for a reason. It'd be a waste to keep it in the box."

Nope just one. I'd kinda consider that spending for the sake of spending, but that's just me. If it's a variant, then that's a different story.

Depending on the Kind of figure, if its on card like this:

I have to get a loose one and a MOSC one

if its just a figure in a box like a figuart I usually only get one. If I really feel like being a MISB collector I'll get extras then

I'd buy two or three same toys if I had the money, one to be displayed in action, and one to be kept MISB just in case the other one is broke:laugh:

But I did buy two same Tamashii Web exclusive item once, and that one is Bonta-Kun Mass Produced version

Well, in my defense... At least I didn't buy all 5 of them, and I really like Bonta-kun, fumoffu :3

My memory little bit vague, but there's one anime otaku character has his/her own way to collecting figures by buying multiple same item, I think it was Konata Izumi from Lucky Star. It was one for display, one for keep it MIB, one for play/pose it outside, one for substitution just in case, IIRC

Like Emperor said, only case that would apply to me would be army building (IE clone troopers). Only other time I bought 2 of something was hot wheels speed racer cars just cause I wanted to keep one in packaging.

Only reason I usually buy more than one of a figure is for armybuilding.

But since you're not talking about that, the only other reason I'd personally do this is if the original broke beyond repair OR if I really wanted to display one in packaging.

^ that's how I roll. But some riders I like so much I really want doubles, but it's just too hard to afford it. Oh well, i guess MOC collectors are that prominent here huh? everyone is an "opener" :D
