Doctor Who -Talk Up! (General Discussion)

Series 7 Complete Box Set has been announced. It will include Asylum of the Daleks through The Angels Take Manhattan, The Snowmen, and The Bells of St. John through The Name of the Doctor. It does not include The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe.

The extras are Audio Commentary for The Snowmen, Cold War, Hide, and The Crimson Horror
Prequel videos for The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe (yes, despite it not being in the set), Asylum of the Daleks, all 3 for The Snowmen, The Bells of St. John, and both for The Name of the Doctor
Pond Life (Series 7a prequel)
The Making of the Gunslinger
Creating Clara
Behind the scenes featurettes for every episode
"Doctor Who in the US", "Last Days of the Ponds", "The Science of Doctor Who", "The Companions" and "Doctor Who at Comic Con"

Slightly disappointed that the Strax Reports and P.S. don't appear to be part of the set, and I'm not sure why the prequel for TD,tW,tW is, without the episode itself, when it's also on the special's stand-alone DVD. The article doesn't list a release date, but says that it's release is "just in time to catch up before the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special", so I'd expect probably October or early November.

Given that the pre-season Chrismas Special isn't on this set, I'm expecting the Anniversary Special and Christmas Special (as well as the rumored Easter Special, should it exist) to get their own mini-set, and then the Series 8 to only include Series 8's own episodes (2014 Christmas Special will air during the season).

The 50th Anniversary Special, to avoid plot leaks and spoilers, will have a worldwide simulcast. Quote from the official DW Tumblr, via Radiotimes:

It's not a confirmation on time, but I hope it's not too much earlier than that, or my mom won't be home from work for it.

I still have to torrent it cause I don't got BBC America. That should also are it on PBS (during the BBCA broadcast).

The BBC are expected to announce at midgnight that the 12th Doctor will be announced this Sunday on a live one-off programe. The news was leaked early by the newspaper The Metro

I'm totally fine with Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor. Yes, he is older, but I feel he can still have a youthful role if that makes any sense. It helps he is a huge fan of the series as well. He wrote in a newspaper after the 25th anniversary hoping the next anniversary would be amazing. Little did he know he would be the reason it would be so great.

I'm kinda loving how many people are freaking out because hes older. Also I'm REALLY hoping he gets a new screwdriver!

I had 'younger' in mind as well, but I'm completely fine with this as well. All you need is to bring life to a character and you can play the Doctor. Of course at a certain point, I would say there is 'too old' but Peter isn't in that category.

He better hit the track, there will be a lot of running in his future.
