This is irrelevent and probably wrong anyway. There are a myriad ways for the body to receive exercise and not all of them or even most have to be performed outdoors. Have you ever heard of a fitness center? I bet Norway has too.

Furthermore, body fat levels and overall composition is largely dependent on diet. It's unlikely that the quantities of overly-processed but affordable packaged foods exist in Norway that exist here. People eat what's attainable, and the impoverished don't have much of a choice.

Yes and no. Diet ,while it does have a factor, genetics does as well.

Those whom have diets that are unsuited to their genetics, ones that went on meat and vegetation without all this processed crap we have today , alongside a modern industrialized lifestyle where jobs do not allow or are sedentary in nature , it's no wonder.

The diet of the masses changed, but it largely ignored why those in the higher classes could eat what they ate. They ate five separate smaller portioned meals , exercised and whatnot.

Note also that that article is dated and that inflation and subsistence have both continued to decline in the past year, which means that the percentage is now likely even higher. I got two jobs , with a family business and whatever I earn on my Adsense account.

I'm employed at a high-end restaurant with a mostly affluent clientele and very healthy business, and even some of the servers I work with are single mothers struggling to provide for young children, or are trying to support their entire immediate family due to disability or illness, or are living out of their cars and still manage to hold an enviable position.

I already know this fact. My older sister was a server and they get get paid poorly, mainly depending on their tips. I'm taking the tippers are cheapskates, aren't they?

I was once asked for five dollars of gas money from a guy who works about 55 hours a week.

If you are a server, then its not really a job that has the income flowing in as it depends on the tips mainly.

I'm starting to doubt you have brain cells because you are bringing up a position where:

-The main source of income is based around tips.
-The main source of income is very hare-brained and fragile depending on the consumers.

you'd realize the fallacy of claiming that a.) the underprivileged and impoverished are "lazy scum" that "abuse the social system," and b.) that this overtly ignorant and insensitive remark is a blatant generalization, and nowhere in the vicinity of being the "fact" you assert it to be.

I will make it a point to tell you that I personally know some of these welfare people. While most are white, there are a few that were of color and yeah, it happens.

-I know a family that feeds off of "disability", are a bunch of hogs and drug addicts and continuously abuse the system.
-I know a former co-worker whom fed off the state.
-I know of a "single" mother that stayed unmarried to milk the system when she had another great job in teaching.

So please do not sugarcoat the issue by claiming all of these people are angels and are demonized when in reality, they are as bad as anybody else, but are given the allowance to feed off the working class and above by the government truly.

I suggest you begin acquainting yourself with some of the recent statistics on poverty, subsistence, the misery index, unemployment, social security

Unemployment is based around the people whom are on the benefits, so if you fire them and or they drop from them , its a fallacious study.

Poverty as you said is a broad swath as you claimed, however you seem to forget that poverty in America is not as bad as poverty in other more third world nations, because apparently, this great government of ours and the elite that rests in Hollywood builds schools in Africa and helps other nations' poverty, but turns their back on their own.

Either poverty is not bad as you claim , or the rich Liberal elite in and outside of government are neglecting their own people. I tend to go with the latter with a mix of the former.

If the Left really cared about the poor or the downtrodden, explain why they themselves aid the spread of poverty in this nation through their support of social services, taxes , regulations and the corrupt unions that make it harder to become successful and easier to live in an impoverished state. Let alone for the poorer people and the recently released criminals, many of whom by the way are minorities.

There was a period in American culture and history where being dependent on the government or anybody [unless you were old , young or disabled] as a parasite was looked down upon and where people had the dignity to stick for their self reliance and the right to be independent from an oppressive government.

and they're often the ones most insistent on participating in discussions of fact-sensitive topics. I'm really beginning to dislike you.

I don't really care if you like me or not, so much as I can say what needs to be said about all these misconceptions you have concerning the "poor" in this country and why those of lower class have lesser options.
