Disney cancels top two soap operas!

This Sucks, All My Children & One Life To Live won't Continue online

It's best they don't. Most of the cast wasn't going to show up anyways as it is. Sucks that many are now stuck with more reality shows... Damn the Nielsen Ratings and their flawed logic!>:(

Give us a Dark Shadows remake series with the budget of Supernatural on Primetime alongside the film instead.

Not quite, they had the majority of One Life to Live's cast lined up. The big omissions were the actors for Bo, Nora, and Dorian. But who's to say they wouldn't have come later down the line? Roger Howarth (Todd) would have continued, as well as the people in Todd's immediate orbit (his kids and ex wives). Even a new actor to play Cole was picked, and might even show up before the show goes off the air.

All My Children, on the other hand, Susan Lucci was holding out for more money and that kinda sabotaged everything. The only people they had after that who was willing to commit was the actors for Ryan and Cara. However, unlike One Life to Live, I think All My Children had run its course anyway.

Cause if there's one thing there isn't enough of is shows about vampires.

Didn't know that.

They should have ditched Lucci and replaced her with another actress. IN fact, they should have rebooted the series at a point after JR going berserk. Only have Cara and Ryan being the two leads and palying them off on some sort of self discovery/ coming together in some exotic land like in India/Eastern Europe like in the olden GH days. Focus on them and their story and gradually bring back cast members affected by the 'shocking' plot thing that was left at a cliffhanger as to how JR gotten f'ed up in the head.

But that would require effort , effort they can not spend.

Dark Shadows should be done. Not doing a redux series now is retarded as it could play off the craze. Throw in some Twilight heartthrobs , Supernatural alumni and cameos by Sarah Michelle Gellar and the actors from Buffy and Charmed and you got a winner with star power. This is why I recommend them adapting Kiva as a Twilight ripoff in the vein of Dracula's son being the traitor of his knid, the Van Helsing of the sort. Think Vampire Hunter D.

Yeah that's why the OLTL thing is such a bummer, cause, what, 90% of the original cast was ready to go, all they needed was the funding. What annoyed me was the guy they got to play Jack was signed but the guy who played Shane wasn't. Jack's actor is horrible and actually seemed to get WORSE, but Shane's actor progressed throughout the duration of the show. They even signed Vimahl's family, including his wild younger sister who is now something of a love interest for Jack. They would have hit the ground running, but...no money. :disappoin

Well...I don't think you can recast Erica Kane. Susan Lucci is too synonymous with the role. If she ever passes away, Erica Kane would "die" as well (though its moot since the show is now off the air).

I think the problem with the AMC Prospect Park deal is that it seemed too intangible to the leads and they all started finding new gigs asap. OLTL took it a bit more serious, though some of them (like Todd aka Victor) bailed, too.

 I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I'm vampired out.

Then scratch that. Couldn't they have gotten the actress of Kendall to become one of the new leads?

I agree with you on that, plus the Prospect Park deal did seem to be shaky and uncertain. Sucks it had to end , but what can you do? Hopefully they will get TV films that function as the equivalent of OVA series in Japan.

I hope they go back on OLTL and pursue that so once GH gets cancelled , that can be its partner? I would love if they took GH into a Nightshift direction and keep it like that while splitting it from the "day", which could be a Soprano's rip and intermingle both plots.

You can NEVER have too much of vampires, though the glowy kind pisses me of. I want to see an antithesis to the Twilight story where it shows how a true romance between the bloodsucker and a girl would really be. :evil3:
