Digimon Scanners RPG Thread

Geikomon and Kiryu had walked around for what seemed like hours. Kiryu walked slumped over, dripping in sweat and panting while it seemed as though Geikomon wasn't even the least little bit tired. He was still eying his surroundings, microwave ovens and other appliances growing off trees, electric wire hanging off like vines, and a slew of creatures some even stranger then Geikomon, Geikomon begins to grumble, he turns around annoyingly and begins to stomp his foot "Hey! Are all you humans this pathetic?! Pick up the pace!" He says "S-sorry...I can't...water....hey...aren't you hot?" He asks, he noticed that Geikomon was sweating just as much as he was.

Geikomon smiles "Nope, not one bit!" Kiryu lets out a deep sigh "Hoooooooooow?" He asks sitting down on the ground. "Years of practice and training my young pupil!" He says. "Pupil....when did I sign up for a training course? And where the heck are you taking me anyway?!" He shouts.

"Um...ah...I don't know...I just have this...feeling y'know" Kiryu then falls down onto his back, anime-style and gets back up "You mean to tell me I've been walking around in the blazing hot heat for nothing!?" Kiryu turns his head, and notices a small buiding, he couldn't read the sign but it didn't take him long to realize what it was: a jusice bar. "WATER!" Kiryu shouts, springing up to his feet he ran towards the bar as fast as he could, leaving a trail of dust behind him as he did. Geikomon blinks, and could only facepalm at the display "Hey! Not that way!!! Do you wanna get eaten Boy?! You're suppose to be sticking with me! heeeeey!" He cries, Geikomon runs after him.

Kiryu runs up to the bar "Water...water! I need water!" He says slapping down a one dollar bill onto the table. The Gekomon that was the bartdenter looks at that "Hmmm?" He says "The heck is that? Listen pal, I ain't runnin a charity here...if you don't have cash then beat it!" Gekomon says Kiryu raised an eyebrow "Are you daft or something?! This IS money!!" he shouts "See!!! M.O.N.E.Y! Whoa, hey!" Kiryu says as geikomon shoves him out of the way 'Sorry Gek ol pal, he's new here....give him some water, and put it on my tab!" Geikomon says. The Gekomon nods, and pours a glass of water onto the table 'Water! Water! Oh come to papa!!" He says downing the glass in a single gulp.

Kiryu lets out an "Ah!" And wipes his lips, it was only then that he noticed Brian and Metamon "eeeeeh?! Ha! I knew there had to be other people here!" He says raising an eyebrow "You look familiar...do I know you from somewhere?" He asks.

Brian was taken aback by the sudden appearance of another human. He had expected as much but not like that.

"I thought you said you guys used dollars from time to time. Why didn't Gekomon accept his bill?" Asked Brian, turning to Metamon as they got up.

"A 1 dollar BILL? There's no such thing as a 1 dollar bill, that denomination come in coin!" Explained Metamon, pulling out a canadian loony.

Brian facepalmed.

The other human gulped down the glass of water and finally noticed him. Apparantly the new guy recognized Brian from somewhere.

"You look familiar too. My name's Brian, Brian Denson, I go to Angel Grove Middle School and my father runs a bakery on 4th Avenue. This is my partner Metamon." said the boy, extanding his hand politely.

Dragomon scowled as DemiDevimon stared at Aeron. “What do you want DemiDevimon?” Dragomon demanded as DemiDevimon began to laugh.

“So you finally wake up only to be a slave to a human huh? That sucks for you Drago-boy-mon!” DemiDevimon cackled as he flew closer to Aeron.

Aeron backed away from the strange flying-bowling-ball-bat thing. The human got a bad vibe from the creature. A snarl turned into a roar as Dragomon charged DemiDevimon.

“Rage Claw!”

Dragomon snarled nailing DemiDevimon from behind “Stay away from my partner you...”

“Oh so that’s how you want to play huh petmon! Two can play at this game! Demi Dart!”

Dragomon nimbly dodged the syringes that flew at him. The three darts missed Aeron and slammed into the tree next to him. Dragomon, witnessing this, roared in rage and clenched both fists. His red eyes began to flash for several seconds, finally glowing eerily as Aeron’s digivice began to 'freak out’ in his hand. Looking up at Dragomon Aeron couldn’t help but see that his digimon’s shadow was glowing and a black electricity was surging through Dragomon’s whole body.

The black digivices screen, which had been blank, was now flashing red with the word ‘WARNING’ and beeped loudly when held towards the digimon.

“Dr- Dra- Dragomon?” Aeron called out hesitantly as DemiDevimon blinked in confusion.

“Woah woah! Settle down there petm- uh... Dragomon... buddy! Pal? Friend?? AHeh heh heh....” DemiDevimon began to flap his wings furiously and seemed to be trying to flee.

Dragomon followed the bat creature and suddenly dashed toward a rock, leaping off of it. Aeron watched as DemiDevimon looked terrified, finding itself now eye-to-eye with the much larger and much more pissed off dragon.

Dragomon seemed to take a deep breath as black flames gathered in his mouth. “Grrr!.... Take this! Dragon Blast!... Dragon Blast!... Dragon Blast!”

Aeron covered his eyes as a massive explosion of black flames erupted in the sky. A scream of pain could be heard as strange energy floated away. Aeron could have sworn he’d heard “I’ll get you ne-” as the energy faded away into nothingness.

Dragomon landed easily next to Aeron and seem to give the human a long glance. The strange energy surrounding him faded away and his digivice quickly returned to normal.

“Are you ok Aeron?” Dragomon asked concern evident in his voice.

“Uh yeah... I’m fine.”

“Good. I’m glad.”

With a nod, Dragomon resumed leading Aeron through the meadow. Aeron couldn’t help but stare at his new friend. Is he really ok? Aeron wondered but his thoughts were broken by a familiar sound. His digivice was beeping again. Aeron looked at it in confusion once more.

Dragomon peered at it and after a moment began to lift up the rocks nearby. Aeron followed him, confusion growing with each passing moment until...

Dragomon turned over a rock with a strange black symbol on it. “This is?” Aeron asked as the beeping intensified. Dragomon pondered the question for a moment.

“I belive it is called a ‘hidden code’.” Dragomon seemed to be trying to remember something important. After another moment he smiled. “Try scanning it with your digivice. The fact that its black in color means its only usable for you and I.”

“Um... ok.” Aeron hestantly moved his fingers trying to find the right combination to press. Finally it worked and the code glowed for a moment before vanishing into the digivice.

Aeron looked at it. “Huh... Shadow Sniping... Any clue what it does?” Aeron wondered as Dragomon shook his head ‘no’.

“We won’t know until we use it. But lets hold on to it for emergencies alright?”

Aeron nodded and the pair moved on. To the boy’s surprised they soon exited the meadow into the light of day, and Aeron realized they’d come upon a shack. Dragomon nudged his partner forward and explained “It’s 'Gekomon's Juice Bar'. We can get a drink here and perhaps-” but Dragomon paused at the sight of two other humans and their digimon. “-find some information about other humans....”

Aeron stepped forward and pulled out two $1 coins. “Um... two drinks please...”

Dragomon read the board and added “Perhaps an Orange Tea for my human friend and a Shade Tea with extra honey for me.” Aeron looked at Dragomon confused and began to ask how Dragomon knew what he would like, but thought better of it.

Turning to the two others humans Aeron had a feeling he knew them from somewhere.

"Gekomon's Juice Bar," Cerdocymon remarked to Griffith as they approached. "No doubt where we'll find our new companions. Follow me."

They headed inside. Gekomon gave Griffith a slightly weary look. "I suppose you want something to drink too?"

Griffith looked down at his soaked through clothes. "No, I think I'm good for the moment, thanks."

"I'm not, though," Cerdocymon said sharply as Gekomon turned away. Gekomon gave him a slightly wary look, taking a small step back. "I'll take one Mango and Sparkplug Smoothie. I trust United Kingdom pounds are still acceptable currency?"

"If it comes from Money Island, it's fine for me," Gekomon replied, taking the note. "I'm not picky."

"Indeed not," Cerdocymon agreed, taking his drink and heading to a corner table. "Go, human. Form an alliance: It is hardly a task I could be called suitable for."

Griffith scowled slightly at being told what to do, but went anyway, approaching the younger boys and their Digimon. "Hey there. I'm Griffith - you said something about Angel Grove? I think we may've met once or twice. I'm Jacob Murphy's grandson. We're the token Scots."

He gave them all quick looks.

"The Denson kid and Kiryu Kusaka, right?" Griffith said. "And the Kage kid. It's good to see familiar faces."

"Huh no kidding?" Kiryu asks downing another glass of water. "That's quite the conicidence, because I happen to go to the same high school...guess that's why I reconized ya" He says he smiles and accepted Brian;'s hand shake "I'm Kiryu Kusaka" He then bows "Nice to meet you. I just moved here from Japan not that long ago...I didn't get a chance to get use to my surroundings yet...and this..." Kiryu looked at Geikomon, who stood there cross armed, smiling smugly. "...is my tour guide"

"TOUR GUIDE! I'm your partner PART.NER!" Geikomon shouts. Kiryu cleans out his ear with his finger "Relax pal! I was just kidding! Geeze!!!" Kiryu then notices two more people approching them "Let me guess...you were checking your email when BAM!" Kiryu says smacking his fist into an open palm "You wound up here in Crazy Anime Monster land" He says

Brian chuckled as Kiryu's description "Yup, that's pretty much it. I didn't even get to the email part though, I just turned on the computer and it..." he pulled out his grey D-Coder "...came right out."

"Brian is a great partner, with his help I manage to kick the crap out of Cyclomon!" Bragged Metamon "Brian found this awesome Hidden Code that made me twice as big!"

Brian shook his head "It was easy to find, it fell on your head after all." The boy chuckled at the look of embarassement on Metamon's feature. "But you were quite heroic out there little buddy. He stood up to that brute even before we found the code."

That's when Brian heard a somewhat familiar voice from the counter. The boy was taken aback that the kid and his Digimon had been able to get in without them noticing.

"Wait...is that... Aeron? Its you isn't it? Its me Brian Denson, We were in the same class together last year remember? Can't believe you got pulled into this too."

It didn't take long for their little group to grow again, this time joined by an older kid. Brian remembered the scottish kid vaguely but would have been hardpressed to remember his name. He did know of Mr. Murphy who visited his father's bakery from time to time, but he had never put the two together and thought he was the guy's grandfather. Having someone older around, Brian felt like a safety net had been added.

After introductions and mild chat had been taken care of (to say nothing of settling down at a table and all finishing their drink) Brian remembered he was still lugging the iron around.

"Oh! Does any of you have a green D-Coder? I found this on my way here and I think it could come in handy. I also wouldn't mind getting this thing off my hands." The boy said, producing the white and green appliance and its coloured code.

Aeron grinned widely at Brian. "Hey! How've you been?" He chuckled softly and looked at Dragomon "Yeah I got dragged here as well." He admitted still grinning

Aeron happily shook hands with the gathered kids and bought a second round of drinks after a time.

Dragomon chuckled to himself at Geikomon's understandable reaction. "Seems you've found yourself an interesting partner hmmm Geikomon?"

At the remark about Cyclomon, Dragomon calmly asked Metamon "Did you delete him? We ran into DemiDevimon and he's now at primary village..." Dragomon's features darkened briefly at the admittance.

Aeron perked up at Brian's question and shook his head no. "My digivice... err... D-Coder is black with red accents." He pulled it from its holder and showed it to the group. "Though we did find a hidden code... not sure what it does though."

(OOC: I'm not used to playing a social character  Hope this alright. Someone's digimon could make a remark about destructive/violent 'Virus' types if so inclined.)

Zen slowly opened his eyes. The sun shone unnaturally brightly. Far more than he was sued to. Zen felt like crap. He lay on his back, small blades of grass tickling his back. He felt the wind caress his face. It felt nice. The entire area felt peaceful, it was a shame his was sore all over. Zen focused his vision and found himself looking at a very large tree. It was impressive, well over two stories tall with long vines hanging everywhere. Small flower buds dotted the entire scene. Zen managed to get into a sitting position, feeling returning to his limbs. He yawned, stretching out his arms. Zen scanned around him and noticed a small device, the very same that came out of his computer. Zen gently picked it up. His mind was surprisingly calm despite nothing making sense.
"Would be nice to know what's going on..."
He mumbled to himself. And to his surprise, someone answered. Or rather, something.
"No problem partner!"
Zen cocked his head and looked next to him. Nestled in the grass on his left side, right next to him, was a small blue creature. It had a some kind of red armor around its spherical body. A short tendril sprouted from the back of its head. The creature shifted it's large purple eyes up to him and grinned with its large mouth. The smile seemed to stretch across it's entire face. Or would that be body. Zen stared for a moment before opening his mouth.
"Umm...WAHHHH!"
Zen jumped back, slamming against the tree. He stared at the creature as it bounded happily up to him.
"What are you!?"
The creature stopped in front of him.
"Me? My name is Byomon. I'm a Digimon and your in the digital world."
Zen slowly sunk into a sitting position.
"Di-Digimon...digital world...okay hang on a minute."
Zen closed his eyes and brought a hand to his forehead, rubbing it. He then took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
"Okay...okayso, Byomon was it. I'm Zen."
Byomon nodded hapily.
"I know!"
"So where is the digital world?"
Byomon puffed out slightly, happy Zen was listening to him.
"The digital world is my home, and where all the digimon live. It's a place created from all the technology from your world, the real world."
Zen looked at the creature.
"Digimon?"
"We live in the digital world. There's a whole bunch of us. Big ones, small ones, and some who are super cool, like me."
Zen smiled slightly at the little creatures attitude.
"Okay...so how did I get here?"
Byomon cocked his whole body.
"Wow, you believe me so easily?"
Zen closed his eyes, crossing his arms.
"Well what should I believe? I mean, I sure don't know where this crazy place is. And why would you lie to me."
Byomon nodded his body, confirming with Zen. The young man continued.
"So how did I get here. All I remember is the computer coming on and a bright light. Oh and this!"
Zen held up the red device and Byomon jumped up happily.
"That's a D-Coder! It's our own Digivice!"
Zen cocked his head.
"Digi...vice?"
"Yeah. There are rumors of special devices called Digivices that can help Digimon form bonds with humans. That's a D-Coder for sure."
Zen looked at the D-Coder.
"So what can it do..and earlier, you said partner. What did you mean?"
"I'm not sure what it can do. But with it, I'm sure I can Digivolve. And like I said, we're partners. I'm not sure why but I just know that you and I are meat to be together."
Zen cocked his head to thew other side.
"Uhh...together?"
Byomon bounced again.
"Yeah, to fight!"
Zen narrowed his eyes and got to his feet.
"Nope, no can do little guy. I don't need someone fighting for me."
The young man pointed his thumb at his chest.
"I can fend for myself."
He smiled despite Byomon looking quite unhappy.
"But, there's all kind of Digimon out there."
"And I'll kick any butt that comes my way."
Zen threw a few jabs in the air and then slammed a kick into the tree. It shook, far more than normal.
"Wow."
"Yeah, you are strong."
A loud voice boomed.
"Who's the punk who woke me up!"
The tree moved, shifting to the side and revealing two eyes and a large mouth on the side. The roots lifted off the ground, scuttling the entire tree around. It had two small arms, one which held some kind of large cane. Byomon jumped into Zen's hands and both started to sweat.
"Wha...what's that!"
"That's Cherrymon! He's super powerful and super old."
The tree held it's cane at the two.
"Who you calling old. I still got it you young whipper snappers!"
Cherrymon held up his cane and slammed it down. Luckily Zen had taken off, clutching Byomon tightly.
"This is why I fight alone!"
"Your the one who started this!"
"Exactly!"
"Get back here both of ya!"
The ground rumbled as the large tree began scuttling surprisingly fast after the two. Zen picked up speed, not daring to look behind him. He shouted at Byomon.
"Is there anywhere we can hide!"
"Yeah, if we can get to Tram Peak he should stop!"
"And where's that!"
"By that mountain!"
Zen noticed a large triangular mountain and poured the speed on.
"I thought you said you wanted to fight!"
"Yeah fight, not get flattened!"
"Well aren't you just useful!"
They neared shack of some kind and Zen saw a green frog-like Digimon. He began shouting but realized it was drowned out by the booming steps of Cherrymon behind them.
"I really hate this place!"

There standing close by her head hovering over sucking its tiny small digits (fingers) was what appeared to be a small bunny…or at least looked like a bunny staring at her with its red eyes. The bunny’s fur was an unusual soft baby powder pink color compared to most rabbit species. Not only that difference had two set of ears (the larger ones looping down by its side and the other two sticking up) with purple markings. Even the bang-like sticking from its forehead was tinted with purple. This was not all that caught Karen’s attention noticing the crescent moon marking on its forehead, neck, arms and chest. Wrapped around it was a pink ribbon held together with a silver crescent moon buckle. The last time she check not only did rabbits did not stand up on its hind legs (it was hard to say when they were hidden) like any two legged creature. More importantly….they don’t talk.

Slowly sitting upright the odd looking bunny moved back giving her some room. Still feeling rather disorientated held her head for a moment trying to remember even more only to be disrupted as the creature rested both hands on her thigh looking rather worryingly. Had she heard it speak? Or did she have a small minor concussion and was sleeping dream it all.

“Are you all right? You’re not hurt are you?†The creature continued moved around with a rather fascinating curiosity about it. The feeling was quite mutual only to be reminded that this was nothing more than a dream. If that was true then she should be able to wake up and the best method is a simple pinch. Bracing herself to be awaken any moment pinched herself tightly as possible until giving out a small yelp. The bunny creature jump rather startled appearing more confused to why she would do that.

“Owww….That hurt.†Karen hissed through her teeth. All right time to take things into a different perspective. Maybe on her way to school something landed down on her head harder and was knock out cold. “Y-Yeah…I am all right. Just feeling rather lost here. What is this place? More importantly who are you and…how can you be talking?â€

Those question seem to trigger something as the bunny-like creature broke out into a cheerful laughter, “How can you be talking after a fall like that Karen?†it replied between through fits of laughter until finally settling down taking a deep breath. “This is the digital forest…well…at least the one section of the digital forest.†motioning towards the area that surrounded them.

The Digital Forest? It sounded something more like a children’s cartoon or game of sorts. “I have been waiting here in the digital forest to meet you for a very long time.†This drawn Karen’s attention down towards the creature more startled. Waiting for her? “I am what you can call a digimon, but my name is Lunamon and it is a pleasure to meet you at last.â€

Digital Forest? Digimon? It was official Karen you lost your mind she thought to herself. Rubbing her forehead to take this all in and ask questions of her own notice a pink oddly device laying on the ground. The device weighed no less than the mobile phone in her hand. It was hard to describe it or how she knew, but something inside told Karen that it belonged to her and bonded the two together. Running her fingers over the digivice knelt down to Lunamon’s level.

Lunamon knew exactly what laid on her partner’s mind, but her attention was diverted picking up a faint sound in the distance. “Umm…we might wanna get moving for I do not think either of us is ready for um…dealing with bugs right now.†she replied moving closer. “I know of a better place that we can go. It should be not too far from her pointing off towards a clearage up ahead. Still feeling as if this was all a dream Karen decided simply to go with the flow until she wakes up.

"Deleted? That...that doesn't sound good." Said Brian.

"It isn't. When we Digimon take too much damage our data breaks apart. We stop existing at that moment and our data is sent to Primary Village to be reformatted as a new Digimon."

Brian went wide eyed "You killed that...DemiDevimon thing? Why? All Metamon did was leave Cyclomon under a big piece of metal!"

"He's a Virus -type, its in their nature to be merciless." Explained Metamon, looking at Dragomon with a neutral expression. "Cyclomon was a Virus -type too."

"And you?" Asked Brian.

"I'm what's called a Data -type we..."

The little Digimon was then interupted by a rumbling noise. The rumbling kept was nearly continuous...and it was getting closer.

Metamon looked toward the exit "That...that noise can't be good ..."

"Ack! Old Man Cherrymon ish at it again! No way he's trashing my plashe again in hish rampage!" Declared Gekomon, rushing outside.
