Bleach Live-Action Movie being developed by Warner Bros

Yeah hollywood sure knows how to make an anime/manga into a movie.

Thats the problem right there! Hollywood always mishandles the source material! That guy who played Piccolo in DBE Hyped it up like crazy, with the role and the amount of movie time he got, I can see why! Pretty sad and to be honest, I can see Bleach having the same faith as Dragonball had with DBE!

I'm curious though, how the cowboy Bebop live action movie would've been if they made the movie a go with the script they came up with and the estimated budget that came with it! The creator of Cowboy Bebop, the sunrise president as well as the script supervisor of the original series was very much involved with that project to make sure the source wasn't butchered and is as faithful as possible! To bad the budget to create it was to high for hollywood! Blessing in disguise or a missed opportunity? Either way I would've loved to see it!

I'm on the side that Bebop was a MISSED opportunity. Accurate but good for moviegoers. With the source material, it was pretty much MADE for Hollywood and it had that futuristic appeal that would appeal alongside the antics, etc.

Keanu Reeves was made to be Spike and I expect for the other characters to be mixed as well. Kindal ike how Firefly uses Chinese language.

If Bleach can cut the crap and or use it to its advantage they could have a trilogy of successful films or perhaps two. I'm not sure if the characters really age unlike Sailor Moon where it was made evident. I could see by the third film/possible finale, they can go his his possession and the Arrancars .

Just skipping the filler/unnecessary story you can do alot with the series , but it would have to be done as a series. If it sprouts as a franchise, then we can get it done. But the imperative is the culture comes along with it as baggage. Get rid of it and you might as well call them Grim Reapers if not Gargoyles but styled as Knights. Not just the culture, but it's well known they are Japanese in descent, not even of a foreign gene in any single way save for Chad. Either move it to America and make them pseudo samurai posers like PR:Samurai or keep it all Japanese.

The casting has to be as credible and believable as the story and its background , otherwise the integrity of the entire project is lost. Airbender is the greatest example of this.

Airbender had:
-Inconsistent names. Pseudo-Asian pronunciations are touted as "authentic", but are inconsistent.
-The casting. With inconsistent names leads to casting as bad. There are Inuits and other actors of color in the bg, but the main ones are fully white while bad ones are dark.
-Diminutive reasoning/acting. The characters in the film were braindead, the reasoning of the characters even more. Earthbenders who can't bend earth, WTF? You get the point.
-The writing sucked.
-Studio interference. Might have started the others, but who knows.

As long as they learn from that film , they can make it better.

Yeah hollywood sure knows how to make an anime/manga into a movie. Anyone remember what they wanted to do with Akira?

Also... When a person says "I love what I am making a movie of" it's hype.

I think the Hollywood Dragonball movie is our best example...

EDIT: Nvm, Barashin already mentioned it.

That acutally wasn't as bad as some has said.

While it takes away many things, it does happen to keep the spirit of the series. And at least the fight scenes are actually fight scenes.

I believe what went worng is how they turned Roshi into a hobo, Bulma into whatever the **** she was and the whole eliminating of "anthro" characters ticked me off alongside the small Oozaru. I did love the sfx though ,especially for Piccolo. If the story wasn't hampered by the SAME high school story that was in Transformers , actually was in their early adulthood and had the tournament, I might have actually liked it more. That and if Roshi looked like Roshi and acted like him.

Aside from that , it was no Airbender. That Decade-raped the franchise until Korra is now under THAT. HORRID. TITLE. Seriously , WTF Nick? IT's not like there's a treehugging cat people anime coming soon.

You do realize they did attempt to do Hokuto no Ken, right?

I guess It is only a matter of time until a Naruto live-action film.

You know how many people are angry at just the manga/anime itself?

PS: There was the Full Metal Panic consideration...that could work. Outlaw Star perhaps...maybe Black Lagoon.

Chris Penn as Jackal/Jagi whatever, Big Van Vader and Rufio were the only ones that stood out to me...lol

I will say though...Steve Wang sort of had the right idea with Guyver Dark Hero...pay homage to the source while being its own story. Then there was City Hunter and Jackie Chan was cosplaying as Chun Li. Speaking of which...a lot of folks proclaimed the HK/Taiwan Dragonball was better than DB Evolution; I've seen both and I'm torn, though the HK version paid more homage to the Toriyama manga.
