I have to admit, your reply did make me smile, so there is that. But still...what I would have liked to have seen in Kuuga was Godai needing someone else to restore his smile for a change. Because while there is something worthwhile to Godai as he was, his perfect resolution in the face of all adversity and temptation didn't leave room for the drama that the final battle called for. Not for me at any rate.

Well, he did take a long vacation after the events to search for his soul again, trying to wash away what he has experienced with the Grongi. I guess that's the moment you were looking for, where Godai finally thought it quits and time to address the other side of him that didn't like to resort to violence. It's just his personality not to ask help from others, and that he's pretty much the ideal Rider IMHO. Toei has tried to replicate him time and time again with a few tweaks in details, until they resorted to using asshole-ish main Riders. Yes it could have been awesome if Godai did lose himself to his Ultimate Form, having Gouram turn into sand, and either Ichijo or Sawatari having to bring back Godai to the way he was, but I guess the writers preferred Godai to fix his struggles alone, which is why the Gouram never turned into sand in the first place, since it just cements the fact that Godai could never be broken. As boring as it sounds, it was the angle they took and a lot of people did like how it went.

5)not doing all 13 riders in the tv series of ryuki and giving us cliff hangers for the movie and tv special
4)Coming up with something like the ixa fake fussels and not using all of them or the other modes for his weapons
3)not giving leangle his jack form and no king for him or garren in blade
2) general continuity issues with some of the movies like the core wars cross over -didn't fit anywhere in the series
1)only 31 episodes for decade-i liked it but they didn't finish well and that was a let down as i liked the series

I re-watched "God, Speed, Love" and I have yet another reason why it would be better if the movie had been canon. Hiyori painting fairies as she remember the day of the meteor crash don't really make sense until you factor in how Hyper Kabuto descended onto the rubble in GSL, with the armors thrusters making the illusion of wings.
It's really such a waste that GSL is not canon when it covers up some of the plot-wholes and loose ends that the series leaves behind. Such a disappointment...

We saw Leangle's King Form in the episode where he finally suppresses the will of the Category Ace. In his case (and presumably Garren's), though, the King Form isn't a new suit design, it's just a case of literally becoming the Category King Undead from his suit of cards. The only reason Kenzaki got the (incredibly awesome) gold armor is because his synch rate with his undead was so high that he was able to bond with all thirteen Spades at once - neither Mutsuki nor Tachibana were capable of doing that. I had no problem with that as it helped elaborate on what was unique about Kenzaki and set up the path that would eventually lead to the show's ending.

No his transformation came undone when that happened he was using the power of the king card not his king form besides the designes for the other forms that the riders would have taken had they done that are around. Him becoming the undead king is not his king form.

Ok, Let Me Talk About Shin Asuka, Then ...
Well, since someone (*cough* KingRanger *cough*) has insisted we keep this to strictly Japanese programs ...
Every Ultraman, whether Ultra or human host, have ended up with happy endings. All that is, but one ... Shin Asuka, Ultraman Dyna.
I was pretty upset with the ugly way his show ended, with all the ways he got killed off at the end.
Yes, ways. Plural.
[HIDE]1) First, foremost, and quite simply, the worst: He is betrayed and murdered in cold blood by members of the human race he saved so many times. People who wanted to steal the power of Dyna, allegedly in the name of humanity. And, were quite willing to hold hostages to force him to submit to their experiment... Worst of all, the villians go unpunished for their crimes.
2) After being apparently revived by his Ultraman partner, Shin gets "blown up" defeating the "Frankenstein" Ultraman that the villian had stolen his life force to create - and which had gotten promptly hi-jacked by the Spheres, the real invaders.
3) And, finally, he vanishes down a "black hole" created by the GranSphere's death throes. We get a final mystic vision showing Shin waking up in his ship - and catching up to his long-lost dead father, going side by side into the light of the AfterLife. For some reason, we're supposed to think that he's being taken to Ultra and will return in the future. But, we never see that happen.[/HIDE]
Not to mention the various ways he got the short end of the stick thereafter ...
[HIDE]A few years later, after the first Heisei Ultra period had ended, just before Cosmos launches, we get several direct-to-DVD movies, giving new stories for Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia/Agul. For Tiga, and Gaia/Agul, we get stories showing new adventures set in the future. For Dyna, we get what seems to be a story that ignores those last three episodes, but doesn't say whether it's Alternative Universe (AU) story - or a universe that was visited by Sam Beckett* ...
Then, just over ten years after that final episode of Dyna, we get an AU Shin, Daigo, and Gamu, in Super 8 Ultra Brothers- who eventually become Dyna, Tiga, and Gaia. It was great seeing Shin again, even an AU one. But, did they really have to humiliate him by making him a batboy, not just a minor league baseball player?!
Don't get me wrong - it was great seeing him alive and well, in a relatively peaceful and happy life with his two new childhood best friends. However, that didn't mitigate the tragic ending of the real Shin Asuka ..
... Until the next year, in Ultra Galaxy Legend, we do see that the real Shin Asuka is indeed alive and well, apparently residing on Ultra in the Showa Universe. My main complaint is that the writers never gave even a brief explanation for his survival, nor his prescence in the Showa Universe. It was almost as if they didn't want to acknowledge how big of a game-changer this was. Or, worse yet, were just using the character to draw in the fans.
*Sam Beckett is the time-travelling hero of the American "toku" series Quantum Leap, who went all over time in his past "setting right what had once gone wrong". He only failed once. But, it was a very big once.
[/HIDE]Bottom line, it was a cruel ending for a rather charming character that went directly against the hope and optimism of the Ultra series.

I mean, the freakin poster had them looking like they were going to fight each other, but the only screentime those two had on screen was maybe 2 seconds.
