Best Games That Take Place in Japan?

I was listening to 1UpYours this morning and they were talking about Yakuza and how incredible the game is.

I'm thinking about picking it up sometime. They say the combat's broken, but the way it simulates Japan is breath taking.

I know that's what I loved most about Shenmue, the feel of being in Japan and in the Japanese culture.

What're your favorite games that take place in Japan?

Have any of you played Persona 3?

Yup, I have. Its one of my favrioute RPGs Yakuza is also one of my favrioutes, its got a pretty intresting story to it.

Apprently, they made a live action movie of the game too.

I nearly forgot about the game, but I'd also like to mention the Onimusha saga.

shin megami series might have all been set in japan also...

As far as the ones released state side goes: Only nocturne and Persona 3 are set in japan.

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for N64 is fun and takes place in a very old, very cartoony Japan. I'm pretty sure it's also the only video game out there with a laugh track :laugh:
