Best And Worst Sentai?

At the end of the day these are opinions, if that's his criteria for his favourite series leave him to it. I don't agree with some of the lists on here, but they are people opinions. I have no right to tell them wether they are right or wrong.

The whole basis behind his reasoning doesn't even make sense. Here he is saying Hurricanger is among the best because of none other than elemental ninjas. Well, Kakuranger has elemental ninjas too. So what makes him place Hurri over Kaku, if "elemental ninjas" are his sole criterion for placing it among Sentai's best?

Best: For me it's got to be Timeranger. I also have an irrational love for JAKQ.

Worst: Shinkenger (sickeningly sexist, mecha overkill), Magiranger (also sexist, didn't like the way the characters' magic was used)

I do not think you understand the meaning of the word sexist.

Come on people... If you are going to say BEST WORST at least gives some reasons behind it.

Best: A seven-way tie between Jetman, Dairanger, Gingaman, Timeranger, Abaranger, Boukenger, and Gekiranger. I doubt anyone would be interested in my reasons for seven whole shows, so I'll just leave it at that.

Worst: JAKQ. No offense to JAKQ fans. But I disliked the way how the first 22 eps were too dark and serious. It just made it boring for me. It seemed like it was trying too hard to be dark. Not even a slight joke or anything. I don't mind dark (I love shows like KR Black and Jetman), but when done in a matter like this, I just don't find it fun to watch at all. The characters were really depressing. At the start, I felt for them, but after 22 eps, it just got annoying and frustrating to watch. When Big One appeared, the tone severely jerked towards a much much lighter tone. I also found that a really frustrating thing to get adjusted to. Overtime, I got used to it, and grew to love Big One. He's one of my favorite characters. Then suddenly, the show abruptly just comes to an end. Just like that, with a crappy finale. I sort of felt ripped off. :disappoin

Well of course you would feel ripped off. They canceled the show. That was not supposed to be the ending.

Super Sentai's reliance on rigid writing formulas means the whole genre trends toward lousiness. It's hard to pick a "worst," really. I would say probably my least-favorite sentai ever is Gaoranger, though.

Favorites... you know, I've seen most of the recent greats like Jetman and Timeranger, but... I have to say, I am really extremely fond of Carranger. It's right up there with The Tick when it comes to being a dead-on superhero parody.

I'm also pretty fond of Megaranger, to a degree that exceeds how good the show actually was. I was a lot younger then myself so a show about youth and technology was pretty inspiring.

Rarely when people say "Enough said" is enough actually said. Is that all there needs to be for a show to be good? Elemental powers and a form of martial art? Maybe that's why Gingaman isn't in this list of yours, since it has just elemental powers >.>

Dude, I was in a rush. I was typing that on my phone as I was running to catch my bus. lol. I haven't seen Gingaman yet. Or Kakuranger. I want to. I haven't been watching sentai for a while like you have. I just started in the past year, there's only so much I can watch in a year.

Hurricaneger - The theme was great. Was a change of pace from what I was used to watching. The fighting was epic, and the Gouraijer's were just badass, and Asuka's story of being stuck in his Shurikenger suit was a different pace.

Shinkenger - Something I've been waiting for for a long time in an anime, but instead I got it in a Sentai series. Before Shinkenger started, I was originally drawing characters for my storyline, but once Shinkenger started, I dropped it. Can't wait to see how it ends, hope it doesn't disappoint.

The female Shinkengers both encompass very limited and stereotypical gender roles. I consider that sexist.

I have to agree with the criticism of JAKQ, but it's still one of my favourite series. Who could forget the giant exploding rat :laugh:
