And usually when we're joking around like that, it's ABOUT a picture a member has posted.

Do you expect people to just post pictures and not get comments on them? I don't know about you, but I love it when people comment on pics I post.

... have you never been to the member picture thread? I'm not talking about a post here and there in some isolated thread, I'm talking about pages of in-jokes between mods and members that are not related to the topic directly. People have to "talk around" those just like they would have to do if an argument was going on.

I only visit that thread maybe once every other week.

Can't speak for the other staff members, but for myself, nothing has been brought to my attention to indicate that people are complaining about it. The "flirting" posts usually deal with a specific picture or set of pictures that get posted, so I saw them as being relevant since the purpose of the thread was for members to post pics of themselves.

Honestly, if you haven't noticed Fayt, Keith, and Faiz constantly joking with Faded, then maybe you're too busy to be a mod.

Believe me when I say that THAT is all Keith's fault. It's not like I actually campaigned to get a badge or anything.

I know, you're right, that was my point. I'm not saying that this shouldn't be done (in fact I like the freedom to talk about whatever we want) I'm just saying that it is being done quite often, by mods and admins nonetheless, and so it's weird and kind of insulting for JFC to call me out for taking up forum space with "pointless posts." You just can't regulate it like that. There's a natural progression of conversation on forums, too. If you were to try to keep people from getting off topic during normal vocal conversations, it would be over in thirty seconds, and nobody would want to talk to you. We're all friends here, so you can't expect us not to joke around, flirt, get off on tangets, whatever.

I'm not trying to put you or Keith or Fayt or Faiz on the spot, Faded, I was just using you guys as a an example of how impossible and unnecessary it is to try to limit a board like this to purely on topic, "meaningful" posts.

I think just a better choice of words was in order.

Well, I wasn't trying to single out one of them over the other. At the time, the way I saw it, both Bolt and RX were harrassing each other (though you were right about it getting out of had).

In the end it looks like the original argument has been put to rest *knocks on wood*.
