One of the things that struck me about Avatar: The Way Of Water was how effortlessly it picks up where the first film left off. Cameron's world-building is so meticulous that the audience is immediately transported back to the vivid, awe-inspiring world of Pandora.

Unquestionably a technical wonder, Avatar: The Way Of Water also has a lot of heart. Its fundamental theme is family, selflessness, and the strength of love. As captivating as ever, Jake and Neytiri's bond is highlighted by the addition of their adorable kids to the group. A number of new characters are also introduced in the movie, and each one gets plenty of opportunity to shine.

If it's just the bonus content that makes the difference then nothing is missing. This is all good for the people who don't have Disney+ but have HBO Max.
