Anyone hate Kamen Rider Kiva?

I pretty much gave up.

I have to ask though; Am I the only one who got the impression that Inoue really wanted to do the whole show in 1986?

Same here this series went downhill when Kiva got emperor form and stopped using all his other forms :redface2: And what really pissed me off is when Jiro appeared before Waturu; and he had no idea who the hell he was! Seriously WTF?! :eyebrow:
I kinda had same impression that Inoue did wanted the show to take place in 1986 because the 1986 storyline is much MORE interesting than the 2008 (emo) storyline. Which leads me to the question Why the hell is Otaya not the main character in this series? :eyebrow:

Another thing that really bugged me was the design work. Okay, IXA was nice and Kiva Emperor was actually kinda badass (save for the crap effects with the Rider Kick) but come on, Rising IXA? I'm sorry but that suit has to go up there with DaiBouken and Flash Titan in my book as one of the Ugliest Abominations in Tokusatsu. (I know that's a bit harsh but I just never caught on.) What about Saga? Suit looks nice, gimmick was original...but his finisher has to be the laziest attempt at being cool I've ever seen.
Whoa there:O_O:!!! You caught me off guard there Mike
I thought you would find Kiva's dragon form the ugliest abomination of the series or the ZanVat sword which is probably the worst (and perverted) rider weapon of all time. But putting Rising IXA equivalent to DaiBouken?! C'mon dude! :disappoin
What is it that you hate about it?

I can see so much of Faiz in this, yet I don't see why people are calling this the return of Agito. For one, we have no annoying kids destroying plot points left and right  Even still, I'm not going to miss it when it goes.
I personally enjoyed Agito and I would rather re-watch that series than Kiva. Agito is probably the last rider series where Inoue's writing didn't completely blow.

Kamen Rider Kiva is one of the best Kamen Rider series of the present decade. It has great storylines and awesome villains like the Checkmate Four's Rook and Queen. Also, it featured a dance which can be considered one for the ages. I'm referring to Otoya's legendary dance.

I am enjoying Kamen Rider Kiva .... sure it does have its flaws here and there but i am not the type that gets overly concerned with the nitty-gritty details

Definitely agree with everything except for the bit about the Arms Monsters, they seem to have a certain vital attribute to the story. It's through them that Wataru was able to get the Zanvat and through them that Otoya was probably able to kill King back in '86.

I think their role has been pretty minor to nonexistent. The only one of the three that got any real screen time was Jiro and that was only so Otoya could have someone to fight over Yuri with. Once that was finally over he's all but disappeared along with the other two. They've done stuff, but I don't feel like their presence in the story has had any real impact.

I pretty much gave up.

I said this too in my recent R5 column that I applaud Inoue for proving me wrong and actually turning some of his worst cliches on their heads. However, it happened too little too late for me to really care. I can only imagine the rushed ending we're going to get this year as a result of the Den-O aping. I have to ask though; Am I the only one who got the impression that Inoue really wanted to do the whole show in 1986?

...when you mentioned that in your podcast...so decided to re-watch Faiz also...

Is it safe to say that Kiva is the "Anti-Faiz?"

I love Kamen Rider Kiva, but I don't like Souji Seto. They could've pick a better actor than that Souji.
