Anti-Bullying Thread

Leave. Like you said you were going to over and over again. Then we'll be best friends.

This is the response I expected. Thank you. It's no fun posting or being on a forum where I worry that any post I make is going to be attacked by you. The April fools jokes were 2009 from last year. I signed up when these forums first went up, but back then I didn't post and what I did post was me trolling. I don't care if you want to post our private messages. You are more than welcome to do so. I have no desire to take part in that. IMO private messages are private for a reason, but if it makes you happy to show them by all means make yourself happy. I tried here, so thanks.

What? You set the expectation. Maybe you shouldn't say you're going to leave so often. And who said anything about posting private messages here? I was asking if you wanted to see, and the offer is still open.
Though to correct one lil thing, your first friendly nudge was in May, one month after I joined. And at the point you were posting regularly. And angrily.
Now, steampunk robots on the other hand. Steampunk robots make me happy.

Everything useful i've ever learned i've learned from sitcoms. Take Karate lessons! /thread
I stand by my original point, though. Cyber bullying is just as big a problem as traditional bullying. At least in the good ol' days you could leave it at school. Now it follows you into your home.

I think it's hard to teach kid snot to bully others for their image when the media constantly scrutanises celebrities when they have bad days or when they'red not as good looking as is expected. Children are heavily influenced by the media and they copy what older people do. The older people are obsessed by image and this comes directly from magazines and the media.
Children naturally follow this and then start to build and image of what is an acceptable way to look.

We've always had bullying, but I believe that the bullying is becoming more image related these days.

Well, if anyone bullies you, do what I did in school: take a hammer, stand up to him and say your not gonna take it anymore and if hes gonna fight you, hit him over the head with said hammer. no matter how big he is or how much muscles he has, a hammer is still gonna hurt like hell and everyone else knows not to mess with you, 'cause you might hit them with a hammer

Truth be told though, America is alot different then brazil is. >.>

I take meds for mine. It's the only way for me to not result in...what I did last time...

There was ALOT of blood....I'm still scared of the kind of person I was back then before I learned to chill out and take my meds...

I feel like you're making this up.

And when was Quark banned?

Yeah I think the main problem with cyber-bullying is not what any given person says to you online, but what they say to others and how it spirals out of control. Mean girls taking naked pictures of the fat girl in the locker room and forwarding them to everyone they know -- you can't simply block out everyone. You can't take a hammer to everyone.

That's the danger of it. This isn't the physically life-threatening sort of bullying, but for adolescents who are still learning their place in the world, social bullying can be nearly impossible to deal with. I'm grateful I was in college before cell phone camera and broadband connection technology really took off.
