Every time I think about this it just makes me really sad. I think the fact that I have several Japanese instructors and several close Japanese friends here in the U.S. with me makes it worse. One of my friends is from Nagoya, which was no where near Sendai, but she is really upset because she wishes she were in Japan to help...I can barely watch things about this event anymore without getting sad and tearing up. The Japanese truly are some of the kindest and most caring and polite people in the entire world.

Appears that there might be a second tsunami on the way. A reporter on CNN needed to cut his transmission short because they were being told to find higher ground.

What do you think?

She's generalizing by lumping all asians in one category when I can tell you without her saying it she's referring to Chinese people. She needs to learn theres a difference between Chinese and Japanese (and to be honest they don't even like each other that much). My university has a large number of Chinese students, and I deal with some of the same problems she described on a daily basis. While insensitive I feel her main criticism of talking in the library is valid. I mean people get mad at each other all the time if they're talking loud in the library.
