Local news station posted this on FB:

WASHINGTON (AP) - A 5.9 magnitude earthquake centered northwest
of Richmond, Va., shook much of Washington, D.C., and was felt as
far north as Rhode Island and New York City.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was 3.7 miles
deep. Shaking was felt at the White House and all over the East
Coast, as far south as Chapel Hill, N.C. Parts of the Pentagon,
White House and Capitol were evacuated. The quake was in Mineral,
Va., in Louisa County.

It's not too far from where I live and I could feel it.

Knocked over my bookshelf and all the books I had on my desk while the rest of the apartment shook for a good 30 seconds.

Man that **** scared the hell out of me! All my figures fell over my house was rocking and I thought it was the fucking end of the world!:O_O:

I was in bed texting when it went off, my whole bed shook and I got scared then I noticed my phone went off and I was like duh you got a text, then my brother called an was like you felt that earthquake and I was like 0.o

Also, there were another earthquake in Cokedale, Colorado near New Mexico. It was 5.3 magnitude.
