I personally don't call them kids cartoons, but cartoons that you can watch with (your) kids. Kids cartoons are spongebob.... *shudders* If I had spongebob for a cartoon as a kid, I would have destroyed that tv. Even as a child it would have insulted my intelligence. 4kids versions insult my intelligence to the same point. They friggin made Mr. Popo BLUE!!!!

Have you actually seen Spongebob? While I do admit, it can be very....something :laugh: The thing is, because it's on Nick, it can actually get away with a lot more than 4KIDS can (half the jokes I hear Spongebob make now are something kids won't even get). Here's one example

There's more examples, but that's definitely one that stuck out to me :laugh: Now, I'm not saying that it's not a kid's show, cause it is. But I don't get the "insulting intelligence" part...

Also, 4KIDS did not make Mr. Popo blue, stupid FCC says that there cannot be any characters who are "Black Face", therefore, Mr. Popo is now a blue Genie, and if 4KIDS has the rights, and enough money, he would have been voiced over by Robin Williams (but, if they did have the rights, but not the money...then they would have gotten Dan Castellaneta)

Cable is more lenient than the basic channels :thumbs: That's why I was saying that Spongebob can get away with more than 4KIDS :laugh: It's why, when Power Rangers re-runs were brought to ABC, they had to cover up the headshots. But, they should be able to keep them on Nicktoons :thumbs:

But they can't keep the quick cut of the logo and the Megazord in the MMPR season 1 titles, because of epilepsy (yeah, seriously, apparently they altered it and a whole bunch of other scenes on Nicktoons UK).

....I have a 40-post-per-page view, and the first page makes me shake my head.

Mostly for the 4Kids haters. And I AM a 4Kids hater.

I am surprised with how much they want 4Kids off the air. Like SK. And Loghorn. To be honest, even if they did censor stuff, give them credit for introducing **** to the US that no one would have done at the time. Pokemon has been a major influence to kids in the US, and 4Kids was the first to nab that **** like a fat kid getting the last jumbo lollipop in a candy store by knocking down the other skinny kids.

Sonic X, Kinnikuman, Yu-Gi-Oh!, even if "poorly done", 4Kids has brought one of Japan's major to well-known to not-so-well-known anime to the US that probably would have never been recognized if not for this. Imagine the countless anime in Japan THAT'S ALREADY ENDED ITS AIRING that probably would never make it to the US, but yet it is still a good classic to anime fans.

What 4Kids haters only see is how they "butcher" the series they bring over. But they don't appreciate the new trend that they were given.

So seriously. Stopped being biased about the whole "Ohh! 4Kids is going down! Zippity-do-dah, zippity-yay!" or whatever. Because biased opinions are only your opinions and not a fact.

^^All this is not being biased. It's neutral, which is where I prefer to stand.

And also, SK, your posts are just beyond contradictory and horrendous to read. All I see from them is "My way or the highway". Even Loghorn didn't even do that stuff. If you look back and read and STILL think there is nothing wrong, then you are just so godly opinionated about yourself that you are the only one that matters. And I'll be honest, you're like that in EVERY thread I see you in. Ask others. Seriously, I'm just being nice and telling you like it is. I'm not trying to attack you.

So? With how popular Pokemon is, it's likely some other company would've picked it up just as fast. There's no reason to be grateful to 4kids for grabbing it (unless, you happen to like Pokemon Live (which I wonder how people can))

I dunno about the first two but, with the money-making potential YGO accompanies, it's just like the answer I gave for Pokemon, with that another company would've grabbed it just as fast. I doubt it would remain a hidden title for long.

If 4Kids didn't pick up Pokemon, Saban Entertainment would. Remember, they were still in business in 1998.
If 4Kids didn't pick up Kinnikuman, FUNimation would.
For Yu-Gi-Oh!, it could go either way.
