2013 Rider: Kamen Rider Gaim - News/Rumors thread

It's how they do things. Because of that, it's a given that someone working for the next show is not in the current one because they're already underway in preparing the next show. I remembered hearing that Double's planning stages went as far back as the end of Kiva. Also, the tsunami happening a quarter into OOO had a huge impact on how Fourze turned out.
That was more due to the shorter length of Decade (designed to move the introductions of new Riders further away from the introductions of new Sentai), plus the need to have Double ready in time for his cameo in All Rider vs Dai Shocker. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the suit designs, sets etc were signed off six (or more) months in advance. They have to start filming early so that they have time to schedule in the recording of all the movies, net movies, commercials, and have a bit of wiggle room in case of any delays.
Kamen Rider is supposed to be more adult for an older audience compared to Sentai. That was the whole point of pairing the two up. Lately though, Kamen Rider is treading in Sentai childish territory ever since Den-O. Look at every series from Kuuga through Kabuto. It had more complex stories, more adult themes, and then jokes for kids. I'm not saying the show does not need to a peal to kids, but I want Kamen Rider to still resemble Kamen Rider and not Citrus Sentai Fruitanger.
There's a difference between your personal preference and what KR is "supposed" to be. Showa era Riders were totally meant for kids to watch. It's no coincidence that Amazon was picked to be in Fourze's Hyper Battle DVD - Amazon was always trying to be friends with people too. Heck, Amazon is pretty much a show about a young boy summoning his pet pokemon Rider to fight monsters. It was only with Shin that Ishinomori decided he wanted to try and make something that appealed to the grown-up fans of the original series. That's when Rider went more serious. But after the Hibiki screwjob it became clear to the people making these shows that the execs signing their paychecks only cared about how much plastic they were selling to kids, and the writers responded by taking the shows back to a more light-hearted tone. Yes, there is a general feeling that KR is aimed at boys three or four years older than those watching Sentai, but then it's followed by Pretty Cure which is aimed at little girls, so that's more about having some variety within the "Sunday Morning Kids Time" block.
So, in addition to the usual collectibles, they'll have armor sets based on past Riders for the toyline... this is what I wished Decade had actually done, rather than complete transformations. And now it might be wasted with a toy-only gimmick. I really hope the fact that these seem to be getting toys, rather than just the usual collectibles, means we'll see them in action...
I'd agree but then I remember what all those Legend Rider Switches gave Fourze in the Ganbaride game. If Gaimu's armor pieces look like that, I just hope they don't actually appear on-screen :redface2:

.

I didn't get that memo that Rider was supposed to be more adult. While Kamen can have more complex stories they aim for the same audience. People need to understand that.

I just cant get past the fruit thing. Everything else i can live with. But he is wearing fruit.

Isn't it awesome?

Seriously though - do we actually know how involved Gen is going to be? Last I heard it was something vague like "he is writing a lot for it," which doesn't necessarily imply he'll be the main writer or anything, just that he could be doing episodes.

He's the main writer. He's the only writer revealed.

He's the only writer listed on the website. Gen also tweeted that he's the main writer, hoping to write as much as possible, new challenge etc.
