1, 2, 3, 4, 5! FIVEMAN!! - Thoughts and Opinions

I can't find the subbed episodes anymore (they took them off of Youtube), but I got to about episode 3 and I really enjoyed it. The monsters and villains looked great, and the heroes were never irritating.

I just finished the final episodes today, and I have to say....that was intense. Especially the final attack to Vyghrine by the Super Five Robo. But nothing was shocking as Medow's secret which is.....

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Overall, I loved this series. I have wondered if the Hoshikawa siblings did actually found and rescued their parents.

One thing I never got about Fiveman is how manned interplanetary travel in giant ships was possible..... in 1970.

Fiveman as a whole is like a reverse Kakuranger; the second half of the show is full of weirdness, while the first half is like a blend of Changeman and Flashman. With Kaku it worked since the weirdness came first, but here it was more a disservice. (Although I did like the Fiveman puppets, even if they probably overstayed their welcome.)

Regarding Garoa, I thought it was odd how he was the replacement captain after Shubalie initially left, since Shubalie looked younger than Garoa. What might have worked better was to either: (1) Have Garoa appear before the heroes as children on Sedon, and then reappear later at the time Shubalie did. Shubalie would be the current Vulgyre captain until that point; or (2) Have Shubalie be a Zone soldier brought to Earth to replace the inept Garoa, rather than him taking back his old job. In either case, Garoa and Gaku's rivalry should have intensified. Instead we saw Garoa turn into a parody of himself and the feud forgotten.

I just completed this series last night and I've gotta say, I enjoyed this series. it's weird, but very fun to watch. among the Hoshikawa siblings, Ken is definitely my favourite. hell, he took down a monster without transforming and even a full grown sized monster in human size. that's just badass!

as for the villains, I really like the one who speaks Kansai Dialect (can't remember his name though), he's so cute and hilarious! Shubalie disturbed me during his debut, and to even think he's portrayed by Green Flash's actor?! he has a good singing voice, no doubt, but it was so hard to take him seriously until later on when he finally gets a little more serious.

it was also nice to see Red Mask and Yellow Flash's actors making a cameo appearance. :) overall, Fiveman isn't one of the best series in the franchise, but it's definitely a nice get away from all the serious toned series. my only complain is that the finale was too rushed. they defeated Billion, Dorudora and Shubalie without even breaking a sweat! FiveRed never even dueled with Garoa at all either!

Is this a serious question or a Joke?

No joke. I mean, the whole series seemed to use the number five as a common motif:

- The song begins with "1-2-3-4-5, Fiveman!".
- Each member is codenamed "Five [color]".

So why only three vehicles to form the Five Robo (four for Super Five Robo)?
