Doom Patrol Returns For Season 2 June 25: Watch The New Trailer
There are a lot of superhero shows out there, and it takes a lot to stand out. Trust us, DC’s Doom Patrol is the “a lot” we’re talking about.
Most other movies and TV shows based on comic books try to simplify their premises to keep their audience from being overwhelmed or just weirded out. Not so here! You get the pure unleaded weirdness of pulp comic book continuity in all its glory and then some.
The Doom Patrol consists of Cliff Steele aka Robotman, Larry Trainor aka Negative Man, Rita Farr aka Elasti-Woman, Jane aka Crazy Jane, and Victor Stone aka Cyborg. Their powers are as random as their assorted personalities, and the adventures they get into are absolute madness. Season Two leaves them where they left off at the end of Season One: shrunk to the size of pen caps and stranded on Cliff’s toy race car track.
Doom Patrol Season 2 will see the return of lead cast members Brendan Fraser (Robotman), Matt Bomer (Negative Man), Diane Guerrero (Crazy Jane), Jovian Wade (Cyborg) and April Bowlby (Elasti-Woman). Timothy Dalton is also back as The Chief, and Abigail Shapiro will play The Chief’s daughter Dorothy Spinner, who may possess the power to destroy the world.
Can the Doom Patrol protect Dorothy from The Chief, or will they just wind up destroying the world themselves anyway? You’ll know the answer by the end of this month when Doom Patrol Season 2 premieres its first three episodes on HBO Max and DC Universe.
