V Publishing Announces Fallen Angel And Syntherapy For PC
What kind of video game are you in the mood for right now….something fast-paced with action and violence, or something quiet, passive and thought-provoking? Games publisher V Publishing announced two upcoming Steam games today that cater to both extremes.
First up is Fallen Angel, an energetic hack-and-slasher developed by developed by Matrioska Games. Its framing story takes inspiration from the Old Testament and is more accurate than these things tend to be (Lucifer, the character you control, is a fallen angel and not a horned super-demon).
But…not SO accurate that you could teach it in Sunday School (God has weirdly gone missing, leaving a power vacuum that the archangels are all fighting to fill). There’s also the fact that the areas Lucifer explores include “strange high-tech constructs, idyllic earth-like plains, cyberpunk nightclubs, floating islands and more beyond.”
The second game is Syntherapy, a visual novel developed by Crowned Daemon Studios. You are Dr. Melissa Park, a psychotherapist summoned for a most unusual case: to diagnose and mentally treat a robot.
Actually, we traditionally think of robots as having some kind of body, and this robot doesn’t have one….though she’d like one. Willow is just an AI, and her mental health seems to be declining. Through asking questions, you must probe Willow’s psyche to find the reason why.
Both Fallen Angel and Syntherapy will be out later this year on Steam, from V Publishing.
