This Zelda Guardian Stalker Brick Build Required a Bar Clamp to Finish

PopGeeks tackled a different kind of brick build in this Let’s Build video. Eileen assembled a Guardian Stalker from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on camera. The 377-piece construction set came from Amazon as a non-licensed, third-party brick kit. It delivered one of the toughest sessions in the PopGeeks build series to date.

Unlike the Well Played Toys sets featured in previous builds, this kit carries no official Nintendo branding. The quality and fit of non-licensed brick sets can vary widely between manufacturers. This particular kit leaned toward the more demanding end of that spectrum. The final result still captures the six-legged silhouette that patrols Hyrule’s overworld.

While Eileen worked through the kit, Ben played Tears of the Kingdom nearby. The two traded gameplay tips and strategy ideas throughout the session. That back-and-forth gave the video a relaxed, conversational energy distinct from our solo build entries.

Guardians in Breath of the Wild

Guardians rank among the most iconic enemies in the Zelda franchise. Nintendo introduced them in Breath of the Wild as remnants of ancient Sheikah technology. They were originally designed to combat Calamity Ganon. After Ganon corrupted them, they became deadly obstacles scattered across Hyrule.

The Guardian Stalker is the six-legged walking variant. It fires a precision laser capable of eliminating Link in a single hit. Players learn early to recognize the piano cue that signals a Guardian lock-on. That audio design turned Guardians into one of Breath of the Wild‘s most memorable elements.

Tears of the Kingdom retired the Guardians from the overworld entirely. The sequel replaced them with new threats tied to the Zonai civilization. That shift gives Breath of the Wild merchandise a specific kind of nostalgia. The Guardian Stalker now represents a distinct chapter in the franchise’s history.

A Tough Build That Required a Clamp

The 377-piece kit did not go together easily. Early in the build, several pieces required significant force to snap into place. Eileen resorted to a bar clamp to press stubborn components together. That marked a first for the PopGeeks build series.

Fatigue contributed to a few missteps during the sessions. Eileen had to backtrack and redo sections after placing pieces in the wrong orientation. The corrections added time but did not derail the overall build. Those setbacks came from tiredness rather than unclear instructions.

The finished Guardian Stalker proved worth the effort. The model captures the creature’s distinctive silhouette with its wide stance and multiple legs. A compact body topped with an eye-like laser module anchors the center of the design. On a desk or shelf, it reads immediately as a Guardian.

Building While Gaming

The video’s dual format sets it apart from a standard build session. Eileen assembled the Guardian Stalker while Ben navigated Tears of the Kingdom on screen beside her. The two discussed strategies, reacted to in-game moments, and traded ideas in real time.

That interplay gave the session a different rhythm than a typical build video. Gameplay commentary mixed naturally with construction updates as the build progressed. The format mirrors how many fans actually spend time with their hobbies at home.

PopGeeks’ Let’s Build series follows this hands-on approach across its full catalog. Previous entries include the Solo Leveling Spider Boss from Well Played Toys and two Stray sets: the Block Head figure and the Neon Alley diorama. Each build prioritizes honest assembly experience over polished production.

Availability and an Alternate Guardian Stalker

The specific Guardian Stalker kit featured here is no longer readily available online. Non-licensed brick sets cycle through Amazon listings frequently, and this model has since gone out of stock. Alternate Guardian Stalker kits from other manufacturers remain listed on the platform.

PopGeeks plans to build one of those alternate versions in a future video. That follow-up will compare the two kits and test whether the clamp makes a return. The Guardian’s complex six-leg structure presents a real engineering challenge for any brick set manufacturer.

The Zelda franchise continues to generate merchandise across licensed and unlicensed categories. A live-action Zelda film is currently in development at Nintendo. The Guardian Stalker endures as one of the franchise’s most visually striking designs. That recognition fuels demand for collectibles even outside official licensing channels.

That sounds like an awesome project! The Guardian Stalker is such an iconic enemy in Breath of the Wild. I love how creative the LEGO community can be with their builds. Eileen must have had a blast bringing that design to life! Did they use any specific techniques for the assembly? I'm always interested in seeing how these builds come together. Plus, it's great to see more Zelda content out there, especially with the recent buzz from Tears of the Kingdom!

Finally someone shows the truth about these third-party brick kits. They advertise “compatible with big brands” but half the time the clutch power is garbage. Eileen had to clamp pieces? That’s next level dedication. Most people would quit after ten minutes. The six legs came out looking scary good though, exactly like the Stalker in game. I laughed when Ben kept dying to random stuff while talking strategy. Makes me miss BOTW Guardians, those laser sounds still give me stress. Good job PopGeeks for not pretending it was easy.

The build fatigue part hit me hard, I always mess up when I’m tired too. But the end result is clean, that wide stance and the eye module scream Guardian. Having Ben play TOTK at the same time was a nice touch, their conversation felt natural. I’m tempted to hunt for one of those Amazon kits now, even if it fights me the whole way.

For anyone into Zelda collectibles, this build is worth watching. The kit had serious issues with piece fit, but using a clamp got it done. Resourceful move. The end result has that exact Guardian silhouette, eye and legs look threatening. The casual chat between building and playing Tears of the Kingdom made it feel like a fun session with friends. Guardians deserve more merch like this, licensed or not. Can’t wait to see how the other kit compares.
