Crunchyroll has found success with storefronts — not ones that stick around, but ones that exist temporarily for a couple months or so. Like Spirit Halloween, but for anime.
Crunchyroll’s storefronts have more elaborate decorations than a few plastic skulls and pumpkins, however. Each storefront is an attraction as well as a store, letting fans gawk at giant replicas of prop recreations from the most popular anime around. This time, they’re opening a store at the Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park, CA starting Auguat 22.
The event will be part of The LOOP, the mall’s rotating attraction that regularly features merchandise, collectibles, apparel and themed environments fashioned around games, music, and other cultural moments — think of the way a museum’s traveling exhibit hall works, but for stores.
The August 22 pop-up will feature three new immersive experiences from the worlds of Jujutsu Kaisen, The Apothecary Diaries and Chainsaw Man, with attractions for each, as well as exclusive junk you can only get at the store: plush toys, figures, clothing, home décor and more.
This Crunchyroll / The LOOP collaboration will only be around through October 18. Visit DiscoverTheLoop.com for more info.
