World War Z Deluxe Edition Heads To Nintendo Switch
It’s been a while since we brought up the World War Z video game, released for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC in the spring of 2019. It’s back in the news because…they finally figured out how to get it running on Switch.
It’ll be interesting to see what it looks like. The major selling point of World War Z upon release was its “Swarm Engine” by Saber Interactive that allowed hundreds of zombies to shamble around at once. Eventually an entire mode was created in the game just to showcase the power of this engine (Horde Mode Z), which simply threw as many zombies as possible at you until you succumbed. It has been confirmed that the Swarm Engine is being used in the Nintendo Switch version.
Based on the movie, World War Z is predominantly a multiplayer experience. You can play the main four-player co-op, utiilzing six distinct classes and tons of weapons and traps in locations set around the world, from New York to Moscow. Or you can try out Players Vs. Players Vs. Zombies, sending you against the undead and other players in any of the five modes:: Scavenge Raid, Vaccine Hunt, Swarm Deathmatch, Swarm Domination or King of the Hill.
World War Z has received several additional modes and DLC packs since its release, and you get them all in the Switch version, along with 28 never-before-seen bonus items including outfits, weapon skins and variants. It’s all in the World War Z Deluxe Edition, shrunk down to Nintendo Switch size. Grab it November 2.
