Nokdu’s Peaceful Home is Attacked by Female Assassins
The tale’s main character is Jeon Nokdu (played by Jang Dong Yoon). The series begins with intense action-packed fight scenes. A group of female assassins shows up at Nokdu’s home. Their mission is to kill everyone who lives there; in particular, Nokdu. This home invasion is not just frightening but confusing. Nokdu and his family were commoners, living on an island that people rarely visit. Why send a team of assassins to kill an unimportant family?
WHY? Nokdu has a secret identity. He is actually a prince but he doesn’t know it because his adoptive father never told him. His adopted father served the king as a royal guard who had been ordered to kill Nokdu when he was born. But the guard disobeyed the king’s order and fled to a remote island where he raised Nokdu along with his own biological son.
How Many Identities Can One Person Have?
Nokdu injures one of the assassins. The assassin tries to flee but he chases after her, hoping that she will lead him to whoever sent her to kill his entire family. At this point, he does not realize the assassin is a woman. He finds that out the hard way. The assassin runs into the Widows Village. The first time Nokdu tries to enter this village he is beaten up and tossed out! They may be widows but they’re not weaklings. In order for Nokdu to gain access to the village and find the woman he chased, he disguises himself as a woman/widow. He creates a new identity by transforming himself into the widowed Lady Kim Nok-soon or “Lady Kim”.
Nokdu’s Tale is Captivating
Nokdu is not concerned with learning his true identity. He just wants to figure out who sent assassins to his home and why. Not realizing that the reason for the assault was because of his true identity. Nokdu is not just any prince. He’s the son of the current king and the legitimate heir to the throne. Ultimately, he does learn who he is and that his real father, King Gwanghae, tried to kill him at birth to prevent him from becoming king. But did Nokdu even want to be king?
