The Reason for no 3D Support for PS Vita
Ever wondered why Sony opted not to include 3D support in their newest handheld. We have the answer!
In an interview with Gamespot, SCEE senior group studio director, Mick Hocking shed some light on why 3D didn’t make it the launch version of Sony’s PlayStation Vita. You see, glasses-free 3D is a very touchy thing. You can’t move around too much or the effect is lost, the screen has to be very still. With Vita being a handheld and having the various motion controls that have been implemented, the 3D would not have worked well with the handheld.
There you have it, motion control killed the chances for 3D on the Vita. However, he didn’t dismiss the possibility for future versions so all of you wishing for a 3D version of the PS Vita, hang in there, the door has been left open.
