The Good Dinosaur: New Teaser Trailer for Pixar’s Upcoming Jurassic Adventure
Pixar and dinosaurs. It seems like a combination that is a match made in heaven. The prestigious animation production company doing a CG animated feature starring dinosaurs sounds like a film that is guaranteed to hit it big at the worldwide box office. After a bit of a lengthy delay, the film is finally due out later this year, making 2015 a rare occasion that sees the release of two animated Pixar features in the same year. Earlier this week, Disney released a new teaser trailer for The Good Dinosaur, which you can check out below.
The teaser trailer is similar to footage that was shown at the D23 Expo way back in 2013, showing the asteroid that was meant to hit the Earth and cause an extinction event that would wipe out the dinosaurs. However, in The Good Dinosaur, the story imagines what Earth would be like if the dinosaurs never went instinct. The asteroid never hits Earth, and dinosaurs are still the chief form of life on the planet. There are some nice additions. Pixar finally provides a look at the predator dinosaurs in the film with the trailer. It was a subject the staff for the film was extremely mum about at D23.
In The Good Dinosaur, an Apatosaurus named Arlo forms an unlikely friendship with a human child. While they travel through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo has to learn the power of confronting his fears and discover what he is truly capable of. Also, in this new alternate timeline where dinosaurs rule the Earth, many of the dinosaurs have become farmers.
The Good Dinosaur marks the feature directorial debut of Pixar’s Pete Sohn, who directed the Pixar short Partly Cloudy. The film hits theaters on November 25.
