Star Wars: Rogue One Full Cast and First Photo Revealed
It was a big weekend for Star Wars at the recent D23 Expo. Many aspects of the franchise were touched upon in both films and in video games. Easily one of the big announcements though was the reveal of the full cast of the Star Wars anthology film Rogue One. You can see the cast photo above. The full cast for the film includes:
- Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything)
- Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal, Casino Royale)
- Diego Luna (Milk, Killing Them Softly)
- Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline, Mississippi Grind)
- Donnie Yen (Ip Man, Blade II)
- Jiang Wen (Let the Bullets Fly, Devils on the Doorstep)
- Forest Whitaker (The Butler, The Last King of Scotland)
- Alan Tudyk (Con Man, Firefly)
- Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler, Four Lions).
Rogue One follows the team who helped steal the plans for the Death Star, so that the rebels could have a chance to destroy it in A New Hope. “Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe,” said Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy. “It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. Gareth is such an innovative director and I’m so excited to be working with him and the extraordinary ensemble cast he’s selected for Rogue One.”
Star Wars: Rogue One comes out December 16th 2016.
