Sci-Fi MMO Dual Universe Releases PvP Trailer
Canadian dev studio Novaquark has been slowly building up their space MMORPG Dual Universe since 2018, holding closed alpha tests (which you can still join) and gearing up for a hoped-for 2021 full release. This summer, they’ll be moving to beta testing and adding a feature that’s been anticipated from the beginning: PvP battles.
Dual Universe gives you the ability to customize your spaceship and crew, and PvP is the moment when all those decisions will be put to the test. When you find yourself at war with another player, your ship’s size, construction, and arsenal will be contributing factors in victory or defeat. Of course being a skilled tactician is even more valuable, and the one with the best battle plan will hold the biggest advantage.
“With Dual Universe’s PvP, we have tried to do something really unique and innovative, leveraging the potential of our voxel engine, and first-person immersion inside potentially very large ships,” says Novaquark CEO Jean-Christophe Baillie. “Fans will have to rely on both their design and combat skill in order to stake a claim for themselves in battle. It’s all about strategy and planning, teamwork and coordination, just like real life, large-scale naval battles.”
You can see the PvP mode in action through Novaquark’s latest trailer for Dual Universe. The beta for the game is due out this summer, and the full game is scheduled to be completed in 2021.
