Sable Finally Given Release Date And Demo
We’ve been (im)patiently waiting for developer Shedworks’ Sable since it was first announced way back in 2018. There are so many games out there, with so many styles, that calling something a “unique look” really means something. Sable, somehow, meets 2021 standards of unique. Its spare cel-shaded visuals are rendered in a style inspired by iconic sci-fi artist Moebius, and the results are great:
Imagine an entire open world to explore that looks like this. We don’t have to imagine — it’s nearly here. Shedworks and publisher Raw Fury are finally ready to put this thing out…they’ve announced a release date of September 23.
- Explore at your own pace. You’re free to glide, climb, and travel on foot as you desire.
- Drive and customize your own unique hoverbike.
- Meet other nomads and discover secrets and collectibles around the world.
- Solve puzzles — or don’t! It’s up to you what you want to do.
- Experience an incredible original soundtrack by hit indie artist Japanese Breakfast.
Sable will mainly be a PC experience, sold through Steam, the Epic Games Store, GoG and The Humble Store. The console version will be an XBox exclusive, on both versions (One and X/S). In fact, you can play Sable as soon as tomorrow in the form of a demo. It’ll be available June 15 on XBox and June 16 on PC.
