Russia is Banned from Eurovision
Russia won Eurovision in 2008 with Dima Bilan’s song Believe. This country is also a finalist powerhouse in the competition for being 4-time runner-up. Russia have a massive fanbase for this competition because they take it seriously.
Russia will not join Eurovision this year because of its actions against Ukraine.
The Eurovision song contest has been around since 1956, and it became a year staple in European television. The song festival and competition launch the careers of artists like ABBA, Olivia Newton-John, Lulu, Enya, Celine Dion, Duncan Laurence and Maneskin. The Song contest used to be exclusive to European countries but it becomes more inclusive. Now there are countries in the Eurasian region that competes and lately, Australia is allowed to join.
The Most popular Russian Act to ever compete in Eurovision is t.A.T.u, the first Russian act that topped the US charts. A Pop Duo of teenage girls with a Lesbian image. It is Ironic that how Russia treats the LGBTQ community is not commendable.

I believe in not blaming the people for the actions of their government, but it is understandable why Russia is disqualified for competing. The crowd might get hostile on whoever the Russian delegate will be.
Two innocent twin teenagers want to represent their country. Back in 2014, The Tolmachevy sisters represented Russia because they were a former Junior Eurovision winner. They sang a song titled Shine, which conveys spreading love and peace.
These Poor girls got a hostile reaction from the Austrian Crowd.
In 2016, Ukraine won Eurovision, and they blocked Russian Entry from competing for an illegal entry. 2022 is not the first time Russia got banned, but it is more controversial because of the war.
The Actions of Russia against an independent country like Ukraine are wrong. So, a country that is currently invading a sovereign nation should not compete in a competition created to Unite Europe through music.

A Music Festival should not be political, but I understand why they will ban Russia. Ukraine is also not able to send an entry this year.
