Price Of Nintendo 2DS Drops To $99
Remember when Nintendo came out with a budget version of their 3DS handheld, minus the 3D, with the intended target of little kids? It was in November of 2013. Don’t blame yourself if you forgot. Nintendo noticed you did, and they’re slashing the price in response to stoke up interest again.
“The new lower-priced hardware combined with the strong lineup of new games launching this year and arguably the best library of games in this generation makes it a great time to be a Nintendo fan,” said Nintendo marketing executive Scott Moffitt.
On August 30, the company will be lowering the price of the 2DS to $99.99. That’s in one week. Normally announcements of price drops take effect immediately, but this one will take another week to be activated. It’s currently at the old price of $129.99 at most stores. You might want to inform any soccer moms with little children you know to wait one week, just in case.
The current 2DS package comes with a digital copy of Mario Kart 7, and the discounted handheld will also include the game. When the 2DS is included in the figure, the entire 3DS handheld lineup has sold over 53 million copies worldwide.
