Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous Kickstarter Ends, Breaks Two Milllion
The classic tabletop RPG Pathfinder is coming to PC monitors…..again! After the success of Pathfinder: Kingmaker, creator Owlcat Games is working on a sequel….Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous. Is there demand? That’s putting it mildly…The crowdfunding campaign, which launched February 4, just concluded today with over two million dollars raised.
Like its predecessor, Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous translates the mechanics of the tabletop game into a video game format, while adding a few extra touches of its own. Your ultimate goal in the game is to take back the city of Drezen, which has been conquered by demonic forces. This will take some effort as the walls are heavily fortified and you’re dealing with limited resources. To improve your chances of winning the war, you’ll need to strike alliances, but who can you really trust?
“I express sincere gratitude to every backer who has supported us. This Kickstarter campaign was incredibly successful and our team is amazed by the overwhelming support of backers who share our love of Pathfinder,” says Oleg Shpilchevskiy, Owlcat Games’ Head of Studio. “For us, it is essential to communicate with the core players from the early stages of development. We are looking forward to getting the players’ feedback during a closed alpha test in April.”
If you missed the Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous Kickstarter, despite us writing about it three times, the product will be released commercially, so no worries. A dedicated website will be set up later this month where you can preorder it. The first private taste of the game will take place next month for those who paid for alpha access. There will be a way for non-backers to get access to the alpha too, by purchasing an add-on.
