Killer Sofa Coming This October
High Octane Pictures is bringing over a new indie horror film from New Zealand, and if you already read the title, you know it’s going to be an interesting one. It’s been a while since the glory days of killer furniture — who knows where Death Bed, The Bed That Eats is living now — but Killer Sofa has finally arrived to fill the void in your life.
Francesca has a problem: a stalker is after her. This issue appears to resolve itself when the stalker turns up dead one day, but the situation she traded it for is much worse. A rabbi and voodoo sorceress are hunting down a sofa that seems to be able to possess the dead, and since it’s currently in the home of Francesca, the stalker’s taken up residence inside. He won’t let anyone have her and whenever she brings home a date, they tend to….disappear. Followed by a burp noise, but who knows where that’s coming from.
That’s all well and good. But if you inspect the screenshots and especially the poster carefully, you’ll notice there is one big problem with Killer Sofa. See if you can spot what it is.
You are correct….that is not a sofa. That is a recliner. YOU HAD ONE JOB, GUYS!
Killer Sofa stars Jed Brophy (The Hobbit), Sarah Munn, Stacy King, Harley Neville, and one killer sofa (sort of), and was directed by Bernardo Rao. You’ll be able to catch this lethal furniture this October courtesy of High Octane Pictures.
Francesca always attracted weirdos. When one of her stalkers is found dead, she looks for comfort from her best friend, Maxi. Meanwhile, Maxi’s grandfather, Jack, a disgraced Rabbi, comes across a reclining chair containing a Dybbuk inside. Jack and his voodoo sorceress partner try to find out where the recliner has been delivered while exploring Jack’s newfound gift for communicating with the other world. Meanwhile the reclining chair becomes enchanted by Francesca and starts committing crimes of passion.
