Jason Voorhees Joins Mortal Kombat X Roster, Plus, Two Klassic Characters Return!
Well…that didn’t take long! After revealing the return of Sonya Blade via a trailer yesterday, Netherrealm Studios has announced not one, not two, but THREE new characters who will arrive in Mortal Kombat X. The first of which will no doubt take a stab at being one of the more unique entrants of the series to date.
Jason Voorhees, yes, THAT Jason from Friday the 13th will be playable in Mortal Kombat X for those who purchase the Kombat Pack DLC. The pack is included in the Kollectors Edition, Limited Edition, and Premium Edition as well. Or, you can simply purchase the DLC for $29.99.
That sound a little steep? Well, it’s because Jason isn’t the only character to arrive in the pack. Rumored characters Kenshi and Shinnok are also in it, as proven by a description for the Samurai Pack costume DLC, which comes included in the Kombat Pack.
“Fans who purchase the Kombat Pack will receive the Samurai Pack containing three new character skins: Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana,” reads the accompanying press release.
Returning to Jason, this is not the first time NetherRealm has brought a character from another series into their games. Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street was brought in for the “reboot” of Mortal Kombat. Rumors of Predator, from the movie franchise, have also been running wild for a while. Also, in NetherRealm’s Injustice: Gods Among Us, they put their classic character Scorpion against the DC heroes and villains.
Check out the reveal of Jason below. And let us know who you think will be revealed next!
