Iron Man has been in an interesting position the last few years. A while back (after the events of Axis) he became the Superior Iron Man, giving in to his dark and arrogant ways for the “greater good”. Then, after the events of Civil War II he was put into a coma, and Dr. Doom (wanting to change his ways) became the Infamous Iron Man, and a young girl named Riri Williams was selected by Stark (via an AI imprint of his brain) to take over for him as the true Iron Man, or in this case taking the name Ironheart.
But, with the arrival of Marvel Legacy, Marvel is bringing back Tony Stark in a big way. In fact, when asked on Twitter just how big things were going to get, the writer for the book, Brian Michael Bendis noted this:
All the major Iron Man players are coming together for the biggest Iron Man story… Wait for it… Of all time //t.co/X7l7Qe8Hq7

That’s saying a lot, not the least of which is because not only has Bendis been writing Iron Man for a while, but other legendary writers have had some amazing runs with the character. We’ll just have to see if the story lives up to the hype.
