Warner Bros. Interactive revealed a new trailer this week showcasing a new character joining the roster for Injustice 2 in Robin. You can check out the new gameplay video for Robin in the player below.
Based on the dialogue with Batman, there’s a definite implication that this version of Robin is Damian Wayne, the biological son of Bruce Wayne aka Batman. In the alternate timeline of Injustice, Damian Wayne eventually became Nightwing (the red color version), and had actually killed Dick Grayson, the previous Nightwing and Robin. The dialogue with Batman here definitely references that. He says, “I’m your only son, old man.” Batman replies, “Dick was my son too!” This Robin also wielding a deadly sword also showcases that he’s not Tim Drake or Dick Grayson as he was raised and trained by the League of Assassin under the tutelage of his grandfather, Ra’s al Ghul, and his mother, Talia al Ghul.
Injustice 2 is due out on May 16. The game will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is set after the events of the first one, where the alternate Batman becomes victorious in his battle against the Regime. However, a new threat arises and now poses a new threat to Earth.
