It’s official Samurai Jack is finally coming back later this year. Adult Swim confirmed the premiere date for the new season of Samurai Jack, which is set to join the Toonami lineup later this March. Per a promo spot on the programming block, the show returns to the airwaves on March 11 at 11:30PM.
This will be the first new episode for the show since September 2004, when the last episode for the show, that premiered originally in 2001, was aired on Cartoon Network. Considering the show was about a storyline for a samurai warrior, dubbed Jack, who was trying to get back to his original timeline after being thrust into the future by an evil demon tyrant named Aku, fans never got a satisfactory conclusion to the show, that was created by animation master Genndy Tartakovsky. This is the continuation for a celebrated, classic animated show that fans have been waiting over 12 years to see.
The return of Samurai Jack was announced a little over a year ago in December 2015. There’s been some scattered news now and then, but now there’s finally confirmation of when the show will make its highly anticipated, long awaited return. So Jack fans should mark their calendars for March 11.
