I’m the Villainess so I’m Taming the Final Boss, A schoolgirl woke up as the antagonist of a visual novel she plays
I’m the Villainess so I’m Taming the Final Boss has a really mouthful title. Fans are already making comparison with My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!. This show is based from the Light novel of the same title by Sarasa Nagase.
Both Anime got a similar plot and affinity for long titles but they are two different stories. This Isekai Anime title will premier this coming October 2022!. When “My Next Life as a Villainess” became a popular visual novel and Anime, the “Villainess Isekai” because the writers want to follow the bandwagon. I’m the Villainess so I’m Taming the Final Boss became a standout. It borrowed a trope but made it have a different direction.
I’m the Villainess so I am taming the Final Boss teaser:
A young schoolgirl loves to play Otome Visual novels. It is a dating sim genre marketed to women, where a female protagonist can romance male characters based on her decisions. She sees it as an escape from the challenges of life. One of her favorite games is “Regalia of Saints, Demons, and Maidens.” There is a character in the visual novel that she hates. Aileen Lauren D’Autriche is the villainess of the game. She had made the life of the protagonist Lilia Reinoise a living hell. After finishing this game, the girl died of a disease.
Aileen Lauren D’Autriche got dumped by her fiancee Prince Cedric Jean Ellmeyer. He cannot take her unlikable attitude and rude upbringing anymore. When Aileen heard those harsh words, she suddenly remembered her past life. She was the schoolgirl who loved to play Otome games and reincarnated into the villainess that annoyed her. Having past knowledge of what is Aileen’s faith, she knows the character gets set to doom. Aileen will use her knowledge of the game’s lore so she will survive because she knows the character she became is destined to die. She is running out of time, so she decides to try winning the heart of the game’s final boss and main villain to increase her survival.

I am intrigued by the concept. Make friends with the final boss and get isekai’d as a minor side villain to avoid being slain by the protagonist.

I’ve read the manga, and the plot is brief but extremely fascinating, as is the way the characters’ romantic relationships grow. Sadly, there will only be one season of this, Unless they make fillers.

This getting an anime adaption makes me so thrilled. The villainous reincarnation trope is becoming more and more common. This is what I’m trying to convey to my friends: the execution is what matters most, not whether the story is original or not. I hope this one succeeds. The Writer of “My Life as a Villainess” Invented a new genre of Anime!
